Today was Friday which meant it was almost the weekend. I couldn't wait for this day to be over.
I walked downstairs as my stomach growled and saw Luke siting at the bench eating cereal and scrolling through his phone.
"Morning," I said to him.
"Morning," he mumbled with a mouthful of cereal.
"Ew," I scrunched my nose up in disgust.
"Sorry," he said again with a mouthful of cereal.
It was seriously an unpleasant sight.
I rolled my eyes at him, while I opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water and breakfast."You going out tonight?" Luke asked as I turned to him.
"Um..no. Wasn't planning on it, why?"
"Just wondering because I won't be home," he said and continued to eat his cereal.
"Why? Where you going?"
"Just to a friends house," he shrugged. He's used that one before.
"Luke.."
"Leah I'm serious. I'm going to Caleb's house," he said as I tried to remember who caleb was.
"Just be careful," I told him. I'm always worried about him.
And lately when he's told me where he was going, he didn't go there. So I didn't know what to believe.
"Always are," he told me.
That morning I got ready for school pretty quickly, doing my normal morning routine and just as I walk out the door I said goodbye to Luke.
"Luke I'm going!" I yelled to him so he can hear me from the other room
"Bye. See you later," he said and I walked out of the house.
The ride to school was short and fun when I jammed out to my favourite songs that came on the radio.
When I got to school the bell went, so I got my books from my locker and went straight to homeroom.
To my surprise when I walked in Natasha wasn't there which was weird because she was always here before me.
I took my seat and sat in silence while everyone around me had their own conversations going and the teacher was marking the role.
It was boring as hell without Natasha here. Where is she? I thought to myself.
I started to draw random shapes and pictures in my book out of boredom when I heard everyone go silent.
I looked up to see what had caused it and saw Principle Erikson standing in the doorway with a girl behind her...a new girl maybe?
"Sorry to interrupt. But today a new student will be joining this homeroom. Alexa Hastings." As Principle Erikson said this, the girl standing behind her came out of hiding and stood next to her.
She was pretty. Really pretty.
"And I'm sure you will all do your best to make her feel comfortable and give her a warm welcome" principle Erikson continued
She was wearing skinny jeans with converse and a white t-shirt. She also had really pretty long brown hair.
She stood there not knowing what to do. She was obviously nervous.
"Welcome Alexa," our homeroom teacher greeted her.
Alexa just gave her a closed mouth smile in return.
