The next morning when I woke up I instantly went downstairs to get breakfast. It was one of those mornings for me when you instantly feel hungry after waking up.

I was hoping Luke wasn't downstairs. I got lucky because when I went downstairs he wasn't there. Good.
He is properly still sleeping...or at uni.

Ugh. I don't even know with him anymore.

I opened the fridge and to my disappointment it was pretty much empty. Isn't it Luke's week to buy groceries?

Luke and I usually took turns with grocery shopping and we swapped every week to make it fair.

I thought back to the last time I went grocery shopping. Damit. It was my turn this week.

I rolled my eyes as I closed the empty fridge and walked upstairs to take a shower. My stomach was still grumbling.

After I took a relaxing shower and got changed into jeans and my favourite floral top, I walked downstairs and saw Luke walking into the downstairs laundry.

I quickly walked to the small table near the door and grabbed my car keys. When I heard Luke walk back into the main area I quickly took a glimpse at him and saw him pulling a shirt over his head. I quickly turned back around. I could feel his eyes burning through me so I turned around and stared at him and he stared back.

"The um. The fridge is empty so um can I have some money to go grocery shopping?" I stuttered.

"So you only talk to me when you want something?" He asked bitterly.

Grrr. He makes me crazy. Literally.

I tried to calm myself down and not jump at his throat. "Look. Either you give me money and we eat, or you don't and we starve" I told him, referring to the empty fridge.

He rolled his eyes and pulled out his wallet. He handed me $100.

"Thanks," I mumbled and took it from him.

"Can you get more soda?" He asked as I walked to the door.

"Nope," I popped the 'p' and closed the door.

When I arrived at the store I walked around and got things that we needed. I ended up getting Luke some soda, I only told him no to get under his skin. And it was Luke's favourite drink so I got it.

As I looked around everyone was giving me weird looks. They were probably thinking I was a mother and shopping for my child. Which would be ridiculous because I was only 17.

Today Alexa and I were meeting up for lunch. I was pretty excited because she was honestly hilarious and although we hadn't been friends for a long time she was still an amazing friend.

I quickly finished off my grocery shopping before paying for it and leaving. I honestly hated grocery shopping, it was more of a parent thing.

I pulled up outside of the house and grabbed the grocery bags from the back seat. There were at least six bags covering my arms. They were so heavy and there were so many of them that I couldn't open the door to the house properly so I just rang the door bell.
Luke opened the door and instantly noticed the many bags placed on my arms. He quickly grabbed three of them and I was thankful because they were heavy as hell.

After Luke and I took the groceries out of the bags and placed them in cupboards in silence. I quickly went upstairs and grabbed some money for Alexa and I's lunch and walked back down.

"Luke I'm going," I told him.

"Where?"

"To lunch with Alexa," I informed him. He seriously had to know everything.

"I've never heard you talk about her before," he told me.

"Because she's new at school," I rolled my eyes and left.

I didn't care if that was rude, he was just as rude to me.

Alexa texted me her address to pick her up so I followed that. I must admit I did get a bit lost but I found my way eventually and at least I would know my way here for next time.

I stopped outside her house and it was a two story house. The outside looked pretty old but it was a nice old. It was actually a gorgeous house.

I went up to her front porch and knocked on the door.

"Uh...Hello," a tall woman with brunette hair answered the door. She was obviously Alexa's mother, you could tell because they were both stunning. Her mother was nowhere near as pretty as Alexa but she was still stunning.

"Um...hello. I'm Alexa's friend. And I came to pick her up to go out for lunch" I told her mother and she smiled.

"Oh hello. Nice to meet you."

"Yeah you too," I smiled at her.

"Alexa!" Her mother called.

"What?" I heard Alexa call back and I tried to hide my laugh.

"Your friend is here," her mother called to her and after a few moments I saw Alexa walk down the stairs and to the front door with a smile on her face.

"Ah hey Leah. Come in," she said and I stepped inside her house.

She was wearing tight blue skinny jeans with a few rips in them and a black t-shirt. Although she was wearing the most simple clothing she still looked gorgeous. I don't get it.

"Sorry I'm not ready yet. I won't be too long, I'll only be a few minutes," she said.

"No take your time," I told my friend as we walked upstairs.

When we walked upstairs I saw a little boy playing video games.

"Oi Matt," she said.

"What?" He asked, not even taking his eyes off the TV.

"My friend's here. I want you to meet her," she told him.

"Hi," he slightly glanced at me for a second then turned his head back to the TV.

He was cute but didn't look that much like Alexa.

"Hey," I said to him and followed Alexa into her room.

I instantly stopped in the doorway of her room and looked at the moving object curled up on her bed.

"What's wrong?" She turned to me.
I didn't say anything but she noticed my eyes on her bed.

"Oh that's Jewel," she said as she walked over to pick up her fluffy cat off the bed.

"You don't like cats do you?" She asked.

"Not really. They kind of freak me out," I confessed and she let out a laugh.

"Okay I'll go put her downstairs," she said before disappearing out of her room with the furry creature in her hands.

Once the cat was gone I let out a loud breath that I didn't realise I was holding in. I never liked cats and never will.

It all started when my friend from second grade, Toby had a cat at his birthday party. It freaked me out because it was mainly a black colour with yellow eyes and ever since then I could never look at a cat the same.

Alexa came back into her room empty handed and free of cats. She finished straightening her hair.

"Alright I'm finished let's go," she said as we left and headed out for lunch.
