"It's fine Leah we don't have to talk about it."
"Yes we do Aiden."
"If you want to forget about it let's just forget about it," he said.
"No, we need to talk about it sooner or later."
"Okay," he finally agreed.
"Okay I'm going to admit something to you," I said nervously. I had to tell him. I couldn't hide it anymore, he needed to know. I took a deep breath. Here we go. "I used to like you. A lot."
Aiden stared at me, his lips parted.
"You used to like me?" He asked in disbelief. I nodded.
"Why didn't you ever tell me?"
"I- I don't know I guess I was scared you wouldn't feel the same way. And I know you don't but I just had to tell you."
"But I do..." He said.
"What?"
"I have liked you for so long Leah," he breathed, sounding as if he had been waiting until he would get to say that line.
I stared at him in shock. All this time I had been crushing on him thinking that he would never feel the same way only to find out now that he felt the same way all along.
We both started at each other, waiting for the other person to speak. My heart started beating faster. Where were we going to go from here?
Aiden quickly turned his head away all of a sudden and looked at the floor. "But you like Tyde." He said, his voice firm.
"No no Aiden, I don't, not anymore. I thought I did but I realised I don't," I reassured him and also myself. Tyde was out of the picture now and I wanted to forget about him.
"But you said-"
I put my hands on either side of his face and pressed my lips to his, my heart thumping in my chest. He kissed back and our lips moved in sync until I pulled away.
"Aiden I like you. I've always liked you," I said softly and he smiled.
"Well would you wanna maybe you know..." He trailed off nervously before continuing, "wanna go out sometime... on a date?"
"I would love to," I smiled. I felt so happy. I couldn't believe that Aiden actually liked me.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out, seeing a message from Natasha about her coming to my house to pick me up in ten minutes.
"I'm so sorry but I really have to go. I'll see you at school," I said while getting up and putting my phone back in my pocket.
"Bye Leah," he grinned.
I smiled back at him before I walked out of the house quickly and got into my car to drive back to my place.
I was still shocked at the turn of events. I had gone to Aiden's house, upset about Tyde and everything but now I was leaving feeling so happy that I had finally admitted I liked Aiden and that he liked me back.
But was I doing the right thing? Do I really like Aiden? I shook those thoughts away. Of course I like Aiden, I always have.
When I got home I got out of the car and walked inside. I quickly ate something before sitting on the couch on my phone.
A couple of minutes later Natasha arrived to pick me up.
"Let's go," she said as soon as I opened the front door.
I hesitated. "Natasha I really don't think I should go, you know with all that's happened with Florence and I."
"Leah are you serious, our best friend is pregnant and we need to be there for her."
