the colour purple suits some people
fits them like a glove
paints them with lilac, magenta, plum, lavenderthey're beautiful when they're purple, passionate
stunning when they glow a faint amethyst
blooming like violets in the springbut it doesn't often stay long, and they change
into faded jewels that no longer glow, dying stars
that just need to feel warmth once morewe search for people who are purple
the few who keep the spark forever
but maybe the fact that they have been purple before
is enough to make them specialKim Seokjin stands in front of his second boss, his heart pounding. He's turned up late, again, and so normally this means he's in for it. He gets paid a little more with the comic book store that Namjoon owns, but this just extra job keeps them going. Taehyung needs to be home the majority of the time so that he can write.
Jin literally lives his life in the workplace for his little brother. And they're still barely able to afford the basics. But hopefully Taehyung will get this publishing deal, once he sends his work across to the head of the company. It's smaller, run by someone who knows Namjoon personally. So hopefully everything will go okay.
Until then, Jin is stuck working for this twat. And he is an ultimate twat.
"So, what's your explanation now, huh?" his boss says, sneering at him, and Jin thinks for a moment.
"The traffic was pretty bad," he says truthfully after a few seconds. "There was an accident as I was travelling. And then I got delayed. I'm sorry, sir."The twat raises an eyebrow. "You know that means two extra hours, unpaid, right?" Jin nods reluctantly.
"I know, sir."
"Good. You're on toilet duty tonight. Go clean out the shitty ones. And I want them spotless. Otherwise your head is going in them. Am I understood?"
"Understood completely, sir."Jin sighs to himself when the twat leaves, knowing that his punishment this time isn't as bad as it's been before. His boss is homophobic, harsh, a pervert, and he doesn't seem to care about his employees at all. The only people who benefit from working here are the girls, and that's just because he's a creep. Some of them hate him. Others just use him. It really depends on how long they've been working here.
He pulls on a pair of plastic gloves, walking over to the toilets in question and beginning to clean them. This is a job for the latecomers, and the employees his boss doesn't like. He's used to this task, and it's no longer as bad anymore.
Even if these toilets get cleaned once a week. Literally once a week. Most get sorted three times a day. So these are nasty, and his boss does that on purpose so that workers who don't follow the rules suffer. It's a dumb rule, and it's cruel. But this boss, as we have discovered, is three times as shitty as these toilets.
I mean what.
"Jinnie, why do you work there?"
"Because it's the only place that will accept me. I'm a purple. I don't have a fucking brain, according to most people. And having no intelligence is a bad trait to get a job with, Joonie. I hate the place, the people, the authorities. But I have no other choice.""Baby, you're literally working in the toilet right now."
"I was late."
"Because there was an accident on the road!"
"I should have listened to the news."
"But it happened after you set off! You live half an hour away, love. You can't say that you can read the future.""I wish I could," Jin mutters to himself, hearing footsteps and immediately pointing to the door and pocketing his phone, bending over to make it look like he's scrubbing the floor again. Just as he wipes over a specific spot, his boss walks in, regarding everything with critical eyes.
