being blue doesn't mean that you have all the answers
being blue doesn't give you some psychic ability
being blue doesn't tell you if you're right to try and help
it doesn't help you see realityIntelligence isn't a weapon or a plaster
It can't patch over the things that need kindness to fix
Empathy, intelligence, knowledge, kindness, sympathy, compassion
Not many have all sixwe're all waiting for the hammer to fall
all waiting for something to go wrong
we all try and listen for someone else's call
and sometimes it doesn't take that longbe blue. but try to be happy. for your sake. for mine. and for those you love.
"Remind me why I'm tagging along again?"
"Hyung, come on. They both know you, you're the missing link. Without you, Kook will be too scared to speak. Tae will just hide. We need to get them to actually talk to each other, and then they'd see that they might actually become friends and work partners."Yoongi catches the pleading look his brother throws his way, and finally gives in, as the blue always knew he would. They're family, and he would never refuse Namjoon anything, within reason. This is literally just a case of sitting there and eating food. He can do that. Even if he'll miss his cats.
"You're paying, right?" he checks, and the younger male chuckles.
"Of course I am, silly. I know how much this takes out of you, when I make you socialise with others. It's the least I can do."
"Good, at least you recognise that," his brother returns, pretending to be annoyed, but they know each other too well to be tricked by such things now. They walk into the cafe, and Namjoon sends a text to both boys. Taehyung can't be far away, as he arrives within ten minutes, sitting himself beside his brother's boyfriend and playing with his fingers, nervous. Yoongi tries for a reassuring smile, and it seems to work, because the quiet orange nods at him gratefully and tries to settle his thoughts a little, tries to seem less terrified.
He's not fooling anyone.
Jungkook appears maybe five minutes after Taehyung, walking over to the group of three and sitting beside his work partner, the indigo offering him a compassionate glance. He avoids the eyes of the orange sat across from him, still thinking of the potential dangers of the situation.
"Okay, before we order anything to eat, I want to clear the air a bit. Tae, Jungkook read your application, and-"
"Wait, what?" Taehyung's eyes fly open with panic. "You didn't tell me that! He probably thinks I'm a creep! Hyung, I can't put him through something he doesn't wanna deal with, I-" he pauses, forces himself to breathe. "I can't stay. I should go."Before he can get to his feet, Yoongi's glare stops him mid-movement. "Don't you dare," he says sharply. "I read it too, Tae. But I know you, and your imagination. Hoseok called me the day you applied. If he didn't think things were fine, he wouldn't have got you to join the company. He's not a complete idiot, no matter what I say about him."
The orange forces himself to look properly over at Jungkook, his face red with embarrassment and shame, his heart scared of messing things up. "I want to apologise for my first impression," he says as formally as he can manage, and the younger looks at him. Really sees him, the remorse, the way he seems so uncomfortable with himself.
And he allows himself to hear the other out.
"I promise you, on my life, until I saw you walking Miri, I didn't know you were a real person. I'm a writer who lives in a constant state of creative block, and the day before we met, I had-" he stops, hands flying up as he tries desperately to find a way of explaining himself that doesn't make him sound like a total weirdo. But Jungkook's listening to him, giving him a chance. He can't screw this up.
