we all need hope sometimes
we all need brightness, some sunshine, some faith in the world
we all long to be a source of light, even when our energy is downBut be careful of that brightness, for it can put pressure on you
it can take away your confidence, your belief in yourself
when everyone looks to you for a solution and nothing is there
it can make the weight of responsibility hard to bearKeep your heart light
Illuminate those around you
Provide mental energy to them, no matter the cost
because nobody wants to hear that the guiding light has got lost"Has he sent you anything?" Lisa asks, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Hoseok glances over at his childhood friend.
"Who?"
"Taehyung. The orange we heard from this morning, right?"Hoseok sighs. "That was him, yeah, but I've not heard anything from him. Yoongi said he lacked confidence, is the only thing, so I'm tempted to wait a little longer for him to contact us. It takes a lot of courage to do something like that, after all. Baring yourself to others is difficult, and terrifying. Especially when they're judging you on it."
Lisa nods in agreement, flicking her turquoise hair over her shoulder and standing up, unplugging her laptop and sliding it into her bag. "I'd better get home," she says simply, smiling apologetically, "I've got my dance club tonight, so I need to get something to eat." Her blonde friend nods in understanding, sending her a bright smile before lapsing back into thought.
"Don't let me stop you, Aqua," he replies distractedly, "I'm gonna stay here for a few more hours just to get some stuff sorted and read through some applications. I'll text you if Taehyung does come into contact, and we can discuss it tomorrow."
"Sounds like a plan," she returns calmly, shouldering her bag and making her way out of the room, pausing at the doorway for a moment. "Make sure to get some sleep, though, Sunshine. I know what you're like. Don't stay up all night over a potential client. You don't always have to reply within five seconds. If they contact you late, a late reply is going to happen. They need to accept that."
Hoseok nods in understanding. "I know. Have fun."
"I will. Night, Hobi."
"Night, Lisa."And then he's left on his own, leaning on his elbow and staring listlessly at the computer screen, his mind occupied by worry for how this whole situation is going to play out. Sure, it's a seemingly simple thing, just another client, but he knows Min Yoongi better than many others. The indigo doesn't refer to just anyone as a good writer - even if he knows them well.
Taehyung must be important in some way.
His computer pings with a notification, and he jolts in surprise at the sound, his hand coming to check what it's about. There's something strangely invigorating about receiving messages of communication from others, something about the way that it gives a unique connection between two or more people despite long distance. And he can't deny that it's one of his favourite modern inventions.
He can check up on the people he cares about without even having to bother them or get in their personal space or intrude on their thoughts. That is one of the most useful parts of all this. And sure, it's not the best way to think of things, but to him it makes sense. To him, it's sensible to want to help others without demanding that they give anything back.
He's lost in thought for a few more seconds, just considering this importance of instant contact, and then he shakes his head to clear it and focuses once more on the situation at hand. He needs to focus more, but it can be hard when his mind catches up on him like this. It's not something he can control, of course, but he tries to anyway.
