when every word you say doesn't seem to fit
when the people you love don't seem to see it
when the universe is bursting apart at the seams
when all you see is broken dreams

sometimes blue does mean sadness
sometimes all we see is blue in the madness
sometimes blue doesn't make any sense
that doesn't make the pain less intense

Kim Namjoon is a patient man. He doesn't get frustrated very easily, most of the time, because he's learnt that anger does nothing. When he found Yoongi, for example, he was tempted to find Yoongi's parents and beat them up for abandoning him. But he saw the desperate expression on the older male's face, and made a decision to just let it go, and focus on helping his new brother get better.

In the years that followed, Namjoon watched with wonder as Yoongi changed, as he began to find faith and positivity in the smaller things. As the indigo was influenced by the logical attitudes of the blues he lived with, and chose to turn to art in order to express his pain, writing refrains as a testament to his struggles.

Anger wouldn't have helped the lost boy Namjoon found on the street that fateful day.

Similarly, if Namjoon could, he would run into Jin's other workplace and beat that twat he works for until he's a pile of flesh on the floor. But then he'd be arrested, and things would just get worse. Plus, he's scared of the impact of that kind of reaction on Taehyung. He sees how much the two brothers care about each other, and he doesn't want to come between that. He just wants to be there for the two of them, even if he views them in different ways: Jin is his boyfriend, and Taehyung is like his little brother.

If he could, he would've shouted in Jungkook's mother's face, told her what a bitch she was, told her that she was destroying her son's confidence. Because he could see the look in the young green's eyes whenever that woman opened her big mouth to argue, and he didn't want to see another person get treated like shit. But he knew that his anger would just be used against him, so he did his best to stay calm.

Even with all of that, Namjoon's first reaction when he learns that Taehyung is at Jungkook's house is anger. It's a tired frustration that stems from the fact that there's no logic behind the situation, there's no sense behind it. How did Taehyung's phone break? What happened that made him go to Jungkook? Why didn't he leave a text, or a even note?

Jin has already had to leave for work by this point, so Namjoon is in charge of figuring out what the hell is going on. After receiving Hoseok's call, he heads straight to Jungkook's house. Because he needs to know. He needs to try and understand the thought processes. All he wants is an explanation.

"Morning, hyung," Jungkook greets him, as usual, a fluffy white blur appearing behind him and speeding for Namjoon's legs, jumping up in an eager greeting. "I'm guessing you're here for Tae?" he adds on quietly, when the blue doesn't kneel down to greet the dog as he usually does.

"Since when did you call him 'Tae'?" Namjoon responds simply, raising an eyebrow. Jungkook sighs.
"I know you probably think I'm to blame for this whole mess, but I promise you that isn't the case. Tae isn't to blame either, he didn't want to upset anyone. If I didn't find him, I don't want to think about what could've happened. And he doesn't either."

As the green moves to one side to let the older male into his house, he places a hand on Namjoon's arm, gently, pausing the blue for a second. "Don't be too harsh on him," he pleads, his melodic voice softer than usual. "He's already beating himself up. You don't need to tell him that he made a mistake, because he's already written the situation off as unforgivable. You know what he's like, better than I do."

Namjoon offers the green a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Kook. I just want to understand, and get some answers."
"You deserve that much," a low voice mumbles, sounding upset, and Jungkook winces a little when Namjoon jolts in recognition, heading into the kitchen to see a familiar orange sat at the breakfast bar.
