Another chapter, a chill one as I promised. There is a part where Bea has a nightmare about her ex, but reading it is not essential to the story, you can just read the scene following it and understand the story as well as the ones that have read the nightmare. Look for the duck mark! (-<>-) She has kind of a panic attack after it, so I will mark it also. The different ones will be marked so you can just skip another one if you'd like that.
I sat on the fine sand, leaning on a rock as the dwarves started to ready themselves for bed. I didn't want to sleep as I feared nightmares might come after the unfortunate events that involved the goblins and a whip. I stretched and got up, finding a log in the middle of the camp, next to Thorin. I wanted to get him to trust me and then, maybe later, we would become friends-ish. At least that is what I hoped. I hadn't stood watch before, but I wanted to tonight so I could at least delay the moment that I had to sleep,
"I can take the first watch tonight." He looked at me and his eyes had warmth in them, which I didn't expect. His voice was gentle as he spoke, which surprised me even more,
"No. You need your sleep, you are injured." I opened my mouth to argue with him but he spoke again before I could say anything,
"I already said no. Now, off you go."His voice wasn't as cold as it had been when he spoke to me before and I smiled and got up. I groaned as the wounds stung and Oin was immediately next to me,
"Are you alright?" I nodded,
"I'm fine, I just need to ... sleep it off, I guess." I muttered as I walked away.
I didn't want to sleep but my body was heavy and my eyelids were droopy as I walked towards an empty corner of the camp.
"Bea! I have a place for you right here!" Kili's shout came from across the camp. It caused me to turn around and hesitantly walk towards them. I had normally slept in a separate spot from the dwarves, as I wasn't comfortable around them as they were all, well, male, after all, and my paranoia had been kicking in. "It's Fili and Kili, they are my friends. I can do it." But as I reached the spot the brothers had saved me, Nori and Ori were there. I would have been fine with just Ori, but Nori's presence gave me goosebumps, and not in a good way. I slowed down my steps and the brothers noticed my hesitation, making room for me in between their places. I quickly sneaked my stuff into it, before Nori noticed,
"What are you doing there Bea, I saved you a spot right here." I decided to play dumb.
"Oh, I didn't notice, sorry." I gave him a bright smile and laid down and used my bag as a pillow as I pulled the blanket on me. "My dad would freak out if he saw me now, sleeping next to four guys that I don't know that well," The thought made me giggle.
"What is it?" Ori asked and I just shook my head.
"No, tell us, what is it" Kili pressured.
"Nothing, my dad would have a fit if he saw me right now." I smiled shyly and looked down. "Why?" Ori was clueless as the others seemed to understand my point and they were chuckling nervously.
"It's just ... I am the only woman of this company. And I'm sleeping in the middle of all of you. Men."
"But we are not men, we are dwarves." Ori still looked clueless and I rolled my eyes, and Nori leaned in to whisper something to his ear. Ori blushed, his face turning into a deep crimson color as he scurried to his feet and moved his bedroll next to Dori's. I threw an angry glance at Nori, "What did you say to him?" He shakes his head as he chuckles lightly,
"Nothing."
"Nothing wouldn't make him hurry away." I pointed out dryly and placed my head on the pillow, and closed my eyes. It didn't take me long to fall asleep to the light chatter of the three dwarves.
(-<>-) Dream."I walked inside after a spin class, sweaty and needing a shower. I take off my clothes, my panties are the only thing remaining as I walk towards the shower. Suddenly, a force grabs my towel and pulls it away from me.
"Hey!" I yell in protest as a camera flash lights up the room for a moment.
"You are such a pretty thing." He speaks, voice dripping lust as he walks closer.
"Don't. I need to shower." My voice is dying down as he smirks.
"I don't think you need one," He purrs,
"Because I need you more than that." He pounces at me but I run away and slam the bathroom door closed after me and lock it.
"You are only delaying the inevitable, missy! Come out of there, now!" I shake at the sound of his voice, it's growing angrier by the second.
"I'm going to be out any minute. I'll shower very quickly!" I squeak and step into the shower. "Fine! Remember that I warned you, bitch!" He yells through the door. I shiver as he bangs the door with his fists. I step out of the shower and dry myself quickly with the towel I have at the bathroom and pull on a pair of shorts as well as a t-shirt from the hamper. I take a deep breath and open the lock and the door, and a hand smacks my cheek as I step out of there. I stumble and I lean onto a wall to keep my balance. His hands are on my body before I can react and I try to pry away. His grip is tight and I shake as he pulls me into his chest.
"You're so pretty. My pretty little miss, aren't you?" He purrs into my ear, and as I don't answer, he slams my back to the wall.
"So that is how you want to play this, huh, bitch?" His voice is dripping with venom and he attacks my neck with his lips, biting hard enough o draw blood. I scream and try to get him to stop but it's no use. I'm yelling at him to let me go, to stop, but he just keeps going.
"You are mine, I don't have to stop. He smirks like a maniac before he attacks yet another spot with his lips, biting hard.
"Stop!" I scream and he pulls away.
"Oh, I will. But not until it's morning." He growls with a smirk, the words dripping of venom and his eyes lustful."
