The dirty blonde woke up a few hours later to see that the chamber she had spent way too much time in was no longer empty. Instead of being alone, Hazel was trapped in the cave with forty others. Each of them were cuffed to the walls just as she had been and there was one unfortunate person strapped down to the gurney with a drill in his hip.
Before the medic could continue to familiarize herself with her surroundings, the door opened and multiple guards entered the room. With them came prisoners that had hoods covering their heads. Hazel desperately hoped that Bellamy wasn't one of them, and because she couldn't see a hooded man in the Mount Weather guard uniform, she remained hopeful.
Cage and one of his lieutenants began to converse about how many losses they had taken, and the officer reported a positive outcome to the sky people's dismay. The lieutenant then proceeded to rip the hoods off the heads of the newcomers.
"Dad?"
The dirty blonde looked to her left and immediately saw Miller, one of the people she had really hoped wouldn't be stuck in this situation with her. She didn't want to have to watch him die like she had with the others. . .
Miller struggled against his cuffs as the guards knocked his father down and screamed, "No! You bastards!"
The boy continued to yank on his restraints while the lieutenant ripped the hood off of Marcus Kane, a man Hazel hadn't seen since she had been thrown into a cell on the Ark, and Abby Griffin, her mentor. The dirty blonde let out a sob as she took in the older doctor's weakened form. Her eyes searched the room, hoping to whatever god existed that none of her other closest friends were caught. It was a selfish thought, but Hazel believed that after everything she had witnessed in the past few hours, she deserved to be selfish.
She heard an astonished Kane ask, "What is wrong with you people?" as Abby growled, "Where's my daughter?"
"Which o—"
The lieutenant cut off Cage, the most recent leader of Mount Weather, and said, "She's talking about Clarke."
The President nodded before giving an obviously fake sympathetic smile as he addressed the mother in despair, "I'm sorry it had to come to this."
Abby's face fell as she assumed the worst. Her eyes searched the room and landed on the gurney, where the patient was just pronounced to be deceased. The doctors called for the next one up and two guards filed into the room. They looked around before pointing at the female with a brace on her leg. It was Raven.
The dirty blonde pulled against the handcuffs again as she tried to prevent the Latina from getting taken, but she only received a kick in the calf from the light-skinned male next to her. Although Miller had no desire to see the mechanic get drilled into, he did not want Hazel to take her place.
An engineer started to scream out in protest and even went as far as offering himself in the Latina's place. Hazel was surprised to see her ex-boyfriend chained against the wall, and even more surprised that he was defending Raven. The dirty blonde briefly wondered what must have changed since she had been arrested all the years ago because last she had checked, Raven and Wick hated each other.
The Latina tried fighting back, but was only zapped with an electric baton that made her fall limp. Wick continued to shout but he went unheard. The others around the room cried out for Raven's sake but it was no use. The doctors were already strapping her down to the table.
One doctor leaned over to place a strap around the mechanic's neck and failed to notice that Raven had regained her strength and was now in the process of biting a chunk out of his own neck. The dirty blonde felt almost sick as she saw the doctor stumble back and clutch onto his throat while the ponytail-haired girl spat out a large piece of flesh and kick out at the other doctors.
