"Well, if it isn't the Prince of Azgeda," the blonde greeted bitterly, glaring at the approaching male. The grounder was followed by four guards, who kept their distance and to themselves.
The long-haired male waved his hands as if to motion for her to look around them. He didn't look pleased as he responded, "Don't be fooled. I'm a prisoner here, same as you."
Clarke wasn't having it, however. She would have preferred if the grounder had left, but that didn't seem to be happening anytime soon. And as much as she wished to be alone and away from him, the blonde was terribly angry with him. She didn't hold any of that hatred back as she spoke, "You're the reason I'm a prisoner here."
"Relax, Wanheda." The prince seemed too nonchalant for the teen's liking, and wished he would just get to the point. He finally did as he continued, "I'm here to help you."
"Sure you are," the blonde replied sarcastically. She knew that her captor was not to be trusted, he was a grounder, after all. The blonde began to turn away from him, ready to flee whatever conversation they had begun.
Roan rolled his eyes at her immaturity. He didn't understand why she was holding a grudge against him. If it had been anyone else that had found Clarke, she would have been killed on the spot. She was fortunate to have met Roan, in his biased opinion.
"Commander promised to lift my banishment if I delivered you safely. She broke our deal," the prince didn't tear his eyes from the blonde as he spoke to her. Because he had caught Clarke's attention, he felt comfortable with turning to look at the view rather than make eye contact with her. They stared out at the city of Polis, Roan's gaze fell upon a heavily guarded brunette women walking through the market. He let out a sigh before continuing to explain, "I'm will to strike a new one with you so we can both go home."
"I'm already going home."
Clarke was done with the conversation, extremely annoyed by the male's presence. This conversation was useless to her. There was nothing that Roan or Ice Nation, for that matter, could give her that she didn't already have or was getting.
"Then you won't have a chance to get what you really want."
The two fighters faced each other, staring the other down intently.
"What would you know about what I want?" the blonde asked with animosity.
The prince's next words confused her at first, for she didn't understand what he was talking about. "I saw the look on your face when I took that hood off," he explained, crossing his arms as he looked down at her shorter form. Clarke narrowed his eyes as he finished, "You want revenge."
Realization crossed over the sky person's face as she understood where the male was going with his proposal. She looked around wearily at the guards, wondering if they were hearing the same thing that she was. "You want to kill her," she stated with a blank expression. Her face turned slightly sour as she bluntly said, "So kill her."
"You can get close, I can't," was his explanation. He proceeded to step forward and speak in a lower tone, offering instructions, "You'll find a knife under your bed when you return to your room." Though she was now being granted a weapon, Clarke still had her doubts. Even if she did decide to work with Roan, she would still have to figure out a backup plan. If things went sour, she would need an escape. "I've already bought enough of the guards to get you out of here." The prince easily answered her unasked question, which impressed the blonde. It seemed as if he really thought this out.
"Azgeda will take control of the coalition, and you'll find a strong and grateful ally in the Ice Queen."
Though the plan seemed simple enough, there were still so many loopholes in it. The possibility of her succeeding in the assassination was less than likely. She would probably lose her head or get throne out the window for any attempt on the Commander's life.
