"I just have to run a few errands." I told Lyric as I slipped on my winter coat and wrapped the scarf around my neck. He pouted out his lip at me from the sofa. "It will take me four hours at least. I'll be back before you know it." I put on my tan beanie and slipped on my tan toms before grabbing my bag and keys.

"Fine but I still don't know why I can't come?" He whined standing from sofa and walking over to me. "I mean it would be better than staying at home alone." He added, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"You aren't alone. Charlie is here to keep you company. Aren't you one the one who said you wanted a dog to hang out with when I am out?" I pointed out glancing over at the Australian shepherd puppy sleeping next to the Christmas tree. He looked over at Charlie and sighed, nodding his head.

"But he is no fun when he is a sleep."  He pouted and I chuckled, unwrapping myself from him.

"Sometimes I swear it is as if I am engaged to a five year old." I laughed and he pouted out his lip farther. "Just wait till he wakes up. I'll be back soon." I kissed his pouting lip quickly before opening out the door and rushing out.

I shivered at the cold air once I got out of the apartment building hallway. The ground was sheets of snow and the stairs as well. I let out a breath and smiled once white fog filled the air. I love the winter here. Even though everything is coated in snow and almost frozen the city never stops moving and I think that is amazing. Everything is also decorated around this time of year and it all looks so beautiful.

New York is my favorite place to be.

"Ella!" Teresa exclaimed once I walked into the hair salon, few pieces of snow in my hair. I smiled at her and untied my coat before hanging it on the rack along with my hat.

"Hey Teresa!" I greeted as she pulled me into a tight hug. "How has business been lately?" I asked once we both pulled back.

"It's been good but we are kinda slow today. You here get your highlights touched up?" She asked walking me over to her stations. I took a seat in the chair and she draped a apron around me and I smiled in the mirror.

"Actually I was thinking about dying it." I said messing around with my hair and looking at her. She gave a toothy grin and nodded running her hands through it.

"I know just the color."

Rockin' around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop,
Mistletoe hung where you can see,
Every couple tries to stop,
Rockin' around the Christmas tree,
Let the Christmas spirit ring,
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie,
And we'll do some caroling

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear,
Voices singing, "Let's be jolly,
Deck the halls with boughs of holly",
Rockin' around the Christmas tree,
Have a happy holiday,
Everyone dancin' merrily,
In the new old-fashioned way.

Shane sang dressed in a dark blue sweater that clung to his muscles and black pants with a white beanie draped over his head. I walked over to the crowd of people and clapped along with them as he continued to sing. He finished the song and everyone cheered and clapped as he gave a bow. A few people walked up and dropped some money into in his case which he would give them a grateful smile.

One guy and dropped a quarter in there and I spoke up not thinking that wasn't right. "Oh come on! I'm sure that his performance is worth more than that!" I called after the guy who just gave me a look and kept walking. "Cheep prick!" I yelled before turning towards Shane who was smiling at me.
