"So tell me again why you can't hang out?" Shane asked as we walked down the street once he stopped by the studio to walk me home. I shifted my dance bag, trying to grab my phone out of it, in hopes that Lyric hasn't texted me that he was on his way home.
"Because..." I paused and gave a frustrated groan once I couldn't find my phone and completely stopped walking, pulling the bag in front of me. Shane chuckled at me and I shot him a look before continuing. "Lyric's mom is flying in to stay with us for a week and I have to make sure that everything is perfect so she will finally stop comparing me to his last girlfriend."
"What do you mean stop comparing you to his last girl?" He asked as I still dug around in my bag.
"Like she always says Well I loved Amber's cooking and Well Amber was a better dancer like Lyric. Or something along the lines of Why don't leave Ella and go find Amber who was a much better girl for you than Ella and you would be so much happier with a girl that can meet the requirements of the kind of super wife that is always perfect and knows how to dance flawlessly, that you need?" I muttered, growing angry just by thinking about it. I cheered once my hand pulled out my phone and did a little dance.
"Well, isn't she just lovely?" Shane chuckled and I sent a smile. "Well if you ever need to get away for a bit just call me and we'll go see a movie or whatever." He added draping an arm around me and pulling me into his side.
"Will do, mate." I smiled up at him, wrapping my arm around his hips as we walked. "Shane?"
"HM?"
"Do you ever regret...ya know us? Like do you ever wish that we never dated so it wouldn't be this whatever is making it weird between us?" I asked and he stayed silent before a few minuets never looking down at me.
"Actually yeah...I do, but as soon as I start thinking like that I just remind myself that if we didn't date then I wouldn't know what love is. Because when I was with you, everyday I would wake up in a new stage of love, and I would treasure every moment of it. And hell who doesn't want to date someone that knows them that well?" He confessed looking down at me. "And you were hot too so that helped a lot." He added with a smirk and I rolled my eyes playfully.
"That was such a guy thing to say." I laughed, trying to stop my heart from thumbing like a drum. He chuckled and ran his hand through his hair.
"What about you, El? Ever regret it?" He questioned as we came up on my apartment. I stared at him for a while, honestly thinking about the question.
I mean sure I regret somethings that happen. Like how we ended up not talking once he cheated and all the fighting that happen before that. But do I honestly regret being with him? Do I regret the amazing times we had together and all the I love you's? And the kissing that took my breath away all the time? Do I really wish that we didn't do any of those things so there wouldn't be any awkward tension between us?
"Like you said only sometimes." I told him after a long silence. He nodded and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Thanks for the walk home." I smiled and pulled my keys out of my bag.
"Yeah! No problem, love. Text me later?" He asked walking backwards down the sidewalk as I headed up the stairs to the building.
"For sure man." I told him and he smiled, turning on his heels, walking down the sidewalk whistling.

"Doll! We're home!" Lyric called out that mixed in with something being rolled across the floor. I quickly dried my hands on the hand towle tucked into my belt, walking out of the kitchen where I was making dinner.
