“Late Slip.” Sabi ko sa window ng secretary ng Prefect of Discipline.
“It’s already past 8:30 am, Absence Slip na ang kailangan mo.” She said as she glanced to her wrist watch.
“I fall in line here at exactly 8:25 am, the line was long Ma’am.” I said.
She raised her eyebrow and I flashed a wide smile.
“Here.” She surrendered and gave me a Late Slip.
Booyah!
School 101:
1 - 30 minutes means late and 31 – 31++ means absent.

|IV – CHARITY|
I opened the front door then pumasok na ako agad.
“Good morning Ma’am sorry I’m late.” I greeted as I give my Late Slip.
“You’re always late, Ms. Del Prado”
“Sorry, I’ll be early next time.” I said in my sweetest voice.
Then, umupo na ko. Sorry na, nasa second row lang kasi yung upuan ko. I’m not that tall.
“Sorry, I’ll be early next time.” Said Bettina - imitating my voice. “ULUL.”
Err... Whatever,
Anyway she’s Bettina, my friend since who knows when. Basta, kung may maaalala man akong first friend simula pa nun. Sya yun.
“Shut up. I hate you.” I said.
“I love you too.” Then she made a flying kiss.
“Eww ha---“
“Okay class, attention please. The student council is here for some announcements about the coming School Week.”
As usual, tumahimik naman kami...
Though, hindi naman tumigil sa bulungan yung mga classmates kong girls nung pumasok na isa isa yung student council.

TADAAAA!!! ON CUE AYAN NA!
“Omigosh. Ang cute talaga niya.”
“Oo nga, he’s sooo handsome pa.”
“I ask him out kaya? Tingin niyo?”
“Like seriously? Nag-g-girlfriend ba si Zach?”
Yeah, I know how pathetic their lives are.
Ewan ko ba, I don’t see anything interesting with this guy. I think he’s over-rated.
Everytime na nakikita ko siya sa hallway, napaka NR ng itsura niya. Hindi ko pa nga siya nakikitang tumawa or ngumiti eh? Kahit na sabihin nating gwapo siya, he looks scary though.
“Good morning 4-Charity.” He greeted and give his 'popular' smile.
Super giggle to the bones na naman yung mga nasa likod ko. Duhhh...
“As you all know, we’ll be having the School Week three weeks from now and as seniors we should all cooperate in facilitating the whole event.” He’s talking like a teacher. LOL.
“Us, the student council, prepared different activities for the School Week. We posted it with the application forms on our bulletin board near the lobby. I hope you could check it later so that you could pass your application form on what certain activities you will help or volunteer.”
“Batch meetings will be held maybe every after dismissal or during weekends. I hope you will all participate.”
Haaay... This is boring...
“Any questions?”
Edi ano pa nangyari? Some of my girl classmates threw nonsense questions like:
“What are the activities na sasalihan ni Zach?”
“Ano yung ili-lead ni Zach na teams?”
And madami pang nonsense stuff.
“Are there any other questions?” I’m still sleepy... I watched some movies last night kasi. Ang ganda nga eh! Teka... Ano nga ba title nun??
“Are there any more questions?” This time, yung teacher na namin yung nagtanong – for the sake na matino yung itatanong ng mga classmates namin.
“How about you Ms. Del Prado? Do you have any questions?”
Tumataba yata yung eyelids ko... Bumibigat eh. (YAK ang kurne.)
“Joey...” Kalabit sakin ni Bettina.
“What??” I said with my eyes half close. ~_O
“Si Ma’am...” She whispered.
“Ano nga??” ~___~ Ang kulit nitong si Bettina, kanina pa kalabit ng kalabit---
“Ms. Del Prado, you’re late and yet! YOURE SLEEPING IN OUR CLASS.” Agsjsdnsksncsjxdxns!
“MA’AM! I’m not sleeping.” I said in defence.
“Yes you were.” She insisted.
“No ma’am. I was about to fall asleep but I urged to fight it.” WHAT?? Sorry, wala na kong maisip na palusot.
“GO TO THE DISCIPLINE’S OFFICE. NOW!”
“What? Ma’am, kakagaling ko lang dun!” I said.
“1, 2, 3, 4. Ma’am four Filipino words, 4 demerits!” Sigaw ni Allaine, yung secretary ng class namin.
Pambihira, English class kasi namin ‘to. Kaya oblige kaming mag English, kundi may minus points kami.
“MS. DEL PRADO. GO!” Our teacher shouted. Tss. Menopause na talaga ‘to.
“But ma’am---”
Then a super unrealistic thing happened. (Ang redundant.)
“With all due respect Ma’am, I think you can’t send her to the discipline’s office because we’re not having a class here.”Seriously...
“Yes ma’am he has a point.” I said smelling my triumph.
“Fine.” Yeah, yun lang nasabi ng magaling naming teacher – BV talaga mga teachers dito, pag si Zach na yung nagsasalita kala mo dyos. Tss.
“So anyway, I hope you will pass your application forms before tomorrow.” stopped and mouth “Especially you” to me? Wait. Sakin ba niya sinabi?
“So yeah, that’s today. And lastly, this is required by all the homeroom teachers. Thank you and have a nice day.” Then, umalis na sila.
“This is required?? Tss.” I hissed.
“Joey! I saw that! He mouthed” Then Bettina sit up straight and imitate Zach’s “ ‘especially you’ ”
“Nah. Hindi ko nakita.” I lied.
“Swear! Nakita koooo!” She assured me – hysterically.
“Ma’am! 3 Filipino words from Joey and 2 words from Bettina! 5 DEMERITS!”
SERIOUSLY?!
Masyado kung gumamit si Allaine ng cotton buds!

Recess
Nakaugalian na namin ni Bettina na lumabas 5 minutes before the bell ng recess, hindi rin naman kasi kami nahuhuli eh.
“I’ll meet you sa lobby, aayusin ko lang ‘tong gamit ko sa locker.”I told her as she went her way to the comfort room. Girl kasi talaga ‘tong si Bettina. As in super girly.v
Pagdating ko sa hallway ng lockers, may narinig akong naguusap.
“I told you, I can’t accept your love.” WHAT? Ano daw?
“But... Could you at least give me another chance---” Wait. Familiar yung boses.
So I decided to take a glimpse.

Si Zach! With... the VP internal girl.
“Sorry Zach, but I honestly think we couldn’t work things out if magiging tayo.” The VP said.
“But---”
“Zach, you’re a great guy. Seriously, I think you’re perfect. But... I don’t want to ruin our friendship.”
“But Katie...” So, Katie pala pangalan nung babae.
“I can’t accept this.” She said sabay abot ng maliit na box kay Zach. “I need to go now, my friends are waiting for me. See you around.”And with that she left.
I’m surprised, hindi ko alam kung ano gagawin ko.
Parang hindi ako makagalaw sa kinatatayuan ko.
But to surprise me more...
Nagulat ako ng napaluhod si Zach...
At biglang umiyak...
Now this is weird, the NR Zach Salcedo is crying...

And the stupidest thing happened:
I dropped my things.
SHOOT. Nakalimutan kong dala dala ko pa pala ‘to. BV.
