Negotiating Part 2 (charlie higson books)

Aiden's POV

"Can you give us your left arm please?" Einstein asked as he got the needle ready to draw my blood out of. I placed my left arm on the armchair and looked over at Achilleus who was watching Einsteins every move to make sure he wasn't doing anything he didn't like. I smiled and reached over to place my hand on top of his.

"It's cool, you think I would be sat here if I wasn't cool with this?" I said raising my eyebrows and Achilleus laughed nodding his head.

"Oh I know for a fact you wouldn't" He laughed smiling making all his scars pope out and wrinkle.

"I never asked what happened to your ear?" I said looking at his badly stitched up ear making me grimace at the badly done job.

"Had a fight with this guy called Just John who was a pain in the arse with David who I thought was a decent geeza but it turned out he wasn't which is why we let out the royals and ended up finding you" He explained as I looked away from him to watch as Einstein put the needle in my arm and extracted my blood.

"I just want to say thank you for letting us use your blood to help with our experiments and hopefully this will be a massive help towards us finding a cure" He blabbed on.

"Yeah well you do what you want with it pal I couldn't really give one" I said wiping the blood off my arm and patting him on the shoulder then standing up.

"My god you two are awful" He said talking about me and Achilleus. We both smiled then left the science lab and headed downstairs towards Maxie and Blue who were sat at the tables.

"What's up?" I asked as we sat down opposite them wondering why they didn't look to pleased.

"Well in order to earn each other's trust Justin wants us to go on a mission and gather food and other supplies" Maxie said unimpressed looking at us for any reaction other than good.

"Okay when we going?" I asked not really fazed by going outside the walls again.

"You good with this?" Blue asked surprised I was cooperating.

"Outside the walls is where I belong" I said smiling happily as it was true, outside the walls was the easiest part of survival.

"You know I'm down" Achilleus smirked nodding his head as he leaned closer to me so our arms were touching.

Both Blue and Maxie smiled before looking at us then they both got up and made their way over to Justin, presumably to tell him the news.

"If were going I don't want a huge team, large numbers are harder to keep alive we need a small elite team of good fighters" I said the Achilleus and he agreed straight away.

"Let's go find us some fighters" Achilleus smirked then got up and began walking around the museum to find people he wanted to take along.
If I've got to walk around this entire museum it's going to take my ages to gather everything/everyone that I need. I looked around and saw that most of the people were here in the cafeteria so I stepped up onto the table and made my announcement.

"So if Justin hasn't already told you a group of us is going to go out and find some more supplies whilst the rest stays here. Apologises to Justin if he hasn't already told you. I want a group of good fighters to come with and that's it, I don't want anyone who can't fight, if you're up for the challenge come and meet us at the doors in a few hours. As you were" I announced then climbed back off the table and made my way up to the sleeping area to grab my backpack, weapons and my beloved spear. I strapped my knife holders onto my thighs and slotted in the correct knifes then put on my backpack and grabbed my spear. After I got everything I needed I headed back out of the sleeping area and headed down towards the main doors were hopefully a good team of fighters was waiting for me.

I rounded the corner and there stood was a group of 7 people all armed and ready with Achilleus stood next to them smiling up at me from the bottom of the stairs. I walked down the stairs and greeted Achilleus before I began walking around the group and greeting people. I got to the front and saw Maxie and Blue stood there having what seemed to be a heated conversation. I walked over to them to hopefully stop their argument.

"Hey guys what's up?" I asked interrupting their argument.

"Can you please tell Blue that if he's going then so I am" Maxie said trying to get me to back her up but I agreed with Blue.

"Sorry Maxie but I'm backing Blue on this one if one of you is coming with then we need a leader of us here to make sure they don't try anything funny whilst we're gone" I said and she sighed then finally agreed sighing then hugging Blue. She said her goodbyes and goodluck to us then walked over to Justin who was stood on the stairs to see us off.

"Right guys this is going to be a quick and easy mission, no stupid stunts and no fighting sickos unless absolutely necessary, lets move out" Blue shouted out then we all began heading out of the main doors and down the stairs to head out the gate. Me and Achilleus both turned and smirked at each other as we was both glad to be outside the walls and back on the streets again.

"I bet I can kill more sickos than you" I challenged him and he raised his eyebrows then smirked at me before swinging around his spear.

"Oh it's on" He smirked lightly shoving me away.
