First Kiss Part 8 (Charlie Higson Books)

Aiden's POV

"Aiden?" I heard just as I was about to go upstairs. I turned around and saw Achilleus stood just before me. He looked angry, hurt and lost as I looked at him. I sighed as I knew it was my fault so I grabbed ahold of his hand and pulled him up the stairs and towards our shared bedroom hall. I pulled him over to my makeshift bed and I sat with my back Kent against the wall and he sat in front of me.

"Are you alright?" I asked as I still had ahold of his hand. He looked up at me in disbelief and let go of my hand.

"Am I alright? You left me here without telling me where you was going, when you was leaving. I'm pissed off that I had to stay here when you was out risking your life. You could've died and I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it!!!" He let out angrily.

"I know it was an arsehole move I'm sorry that I didn't tell you I wanted to tell you but I knew that you wouldn't have let me go without you and you were injured" I explained and he looked like he was about to argue with me but then stopped and looked down.

"Fuck! I know that you're right I'm just pissed off and I'm happy that you're back and I urghhh..." He let out then grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. I was surprised at this but immediately relaxed into it and returned the kiss. I unfortunately had to pull away when I needed some air and rested my forehead on his. His hands were rested on either side of my neck as his breathing was going mad.

"You good?" I whispered smiling lightly.

"I'm amazing" He replied and I burst out laughing leaning back on the wall.

"What?" He asked smiling but I could tell underneath that he was scared of rejection.

"Nothing nothing" I waved him off then pecked his lips once again and before I could speak he did.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me confidently with an underlay of shyness.

"It's stupid that you have to ask" I responded laughing then kissed me again. I pulled away and stood up bringing him up with me then we began heading towards the dining hall so we could eat.

Achilleus's POV

"Thanks for having her back" I patted Blue on the back and thanked him for protecting Aiden when I wasn't there.

"No issue man" He waved me off but smiled anyway.

We was currently sat down in the dining hall eating our rations. I was sat next to Aiden and Blue with Maxie and everyone else opposite us. Paddy was sat near the end of the table with the smaller kids and I smiled lightly at him even though he couldn't see me before turning my attention back to Aiden who was talking to Maxie about the mission she just came back from. I had my hand rested on her thigh as she sat quite close to me making me happy.

"Aiden can we have some blood from you we've run out" Einstein asked from the stairs and Aiden sighed but nodded anyway. I went to get up to go with her but she dismissed me and told me to stay here.

"I won't be long" She said to me squeezing my shoulder then following after Einstein.

It's been way to long and I'm starting to get concerned as to where she is.

"Where the fuck is she it's been way too long" I said getting agitated then we heard shouting and screaming coming from the courtyard.

"Gather your weapons and get into formation on the stairs" Blue shouted as we ran around getting things we need to defend ourselves.
