Anchor (Liam dunbar)

Stiles POV

"Get Summer right now" I shouted from next to Derek as we sat in the back of the van with Liam. Liam's claws came out and his eyes turned yellow before he began growling.

"How she's in the other car" Derek replied holding Liam away from me.

"Pull over he needs her he's too far gone for us to calm him down" I shouted again and she listened pulling over and stopping before we opened the doors and jumped out not before shutting them behind us so Liam couldn't escape.

"Stiles what's going on how's Liam?" Summer asked as she jumped out of the car and ran towards me. The look of concern and love on her face for Liam made me understand why she was his anchor.

"He needs you" I stated and we all jumped when we heard Liam roar out again. Summer was about to run over to the van to Liam when Scott stopped her.

"We should let him calm himself he can't always rely on you to calm him" Scott said and the van shook from Liam's force of trying to remove the shackles.

"Scott I appreciate that but unless you want to spend the rest of this trip in constant fear of Liam wolfing about then you need to let me" Summer explained to Scott who seemed hesitant at first but nodded and let her pass.

We all watched as she knocked on the van and told Liam it was her before opening both the doors and looking at him to let him have time to realise that it was her before she got in with him. She placed her hand to the side of Liam's head to let him make the move. Liam instantly placed his head on her hand and then she lent forward enough to be close to him but not completely restrict his movements in case he freaks out. (Which we all knew he wouldn't) As they both sat there Liam's claws went back in and that's when she hugged him with her hand still on the side of this head and he breathed her scent in and relaxed himself. Not long after he calmed down Scott said his heartbeat relax to a lower state than normal because he was with her.

"Alright Summer back in other van" Lydia said as we all began getting back into the cars and Liam growled loudly at that statement.

"She's staying with me" Liam stated in a tone that had no room for an argument.

So me, Derek and Summer all sat in the back with Liam. Summer was sat very close to Liam as they held hands and whispered among themselves every so often they sat in silence just enjoying each other's company. Liam didn't have any more outbursts for the rest of the trip now that Summer was beside him the entire time.

Summers POV

"Thank you" I heard Liam whisper once we eventually got back to Beacon Hills and were outside his house dropping him off.

"It's okay Liam if you need me I'm always here for you" I told him confidently as I took his hand and walked with him up the steps to his front door.

"Erm can you... can you stay?" Liam asked nervously clearly scared about something whilst being on his own and I would gladly stay with him.

"Of course" I said and kissed him on the lips.

"Guys you can go I'm staying" I shouted to the van and they nodded before driving off leaving me and Liam alone.

Our relationship was pretty new but we have been friends ever since he moved to this school. He has always come to me to help him out when he was angry even before he was a werewolf. Luckily for him I already knew all about the supernatural from being friends with Scott and Stiles so I could help him out from the beginning which is why I think I became his anchor straight away.

"Come on lets go to bed" I said as he yawned and nodded leading me up the stairs to his room. Once we got in his room he gave me one of his shirts and some joggers so I got changed in his on-suite. I came back out dumping my clothes near the window before climbing into bed with him. I could clearly see Liam was shaken up by something and I wanted to know so I could help him but I didn't want to pressure him into speaking about it. So instead I cuddled myself closer to him as he did with me and placed a light kiss on his chest before I fell asleep.

Liam's POV

She came out of the bathroom in my clothes and her scent mixed with mine was sending me wild. It smelt perfect and I knew my scent would linger on her long after she took off my clothes. I felt her cuddle into me as she wrapped her limbs around mine and I did the same. I felt her place a feather light kiss on my chest which made my heart beat ten time a dozen before her breathing even out indicating she was asleep.

"God what would I do without you" I whispered into her hair as I inhaled her scent before falling into a peaceful sleep for the first time in a long time.
