Sleeps struggles (Rickyl)

Ricks POV

"We haven't had this much space since we left the farm" Carol shouted excitedly as she ran forward into the big open space of the prison.
I stood behind my family and smiled as I realised what we have accomplished and how far we have all come.

"Come on guys let's bring in the cars" I shouted as I walked towards the fence and dragged it open to bring the cars in.

"Rick?" I turned around and saw Hershel stood in front of me.

"Hershel what's wrong?" I asks curious.

"I just wanted to thank you for protecting my daughters and getting us here safely, I owe you my life Rick thank you" Hershel told me honestly.

"You are very welcome Hershel it was the most I could do as you took us in on the farm and let us stay in your home" I told him smiling then patted his shoulder and climbed into the RV. I turned the engine on and drove it into the field and drove it into the corner.

As, night came closer with every passing minute me and my group gathered our belongings and set up a camp for the night. The group now no of mine and Daryl's relationship and are very open to the idea of us being together. I set my things down beside him and laid down facing away from him.

"Rick are you okay?" I heard him whisper and he rolled over.

"I'm just tired I can't sleep, I'm to worried about everything to sleep I just want everyone to be safe and okay" I told him and I wrapped my blanket tighter around me.

"I know Rick I want everyone to be safe too but you need to sleep otherwise you can't help anyone if you're to tired to even pick yourself up" He explained to me.

I then felt him shuffle closer to me and his arm was across my body and he laced my fingers with his. I smiled to myself then kissed his hand and shuffled back into him and closed my eyes.

"I love you Rick" Daryl whispered into my back as I was about to drift off.

"I love you too Daryl" I told him then drifted off into the best sleep I've had since the outbreak.
