Unexpected turn (Farry/Merthur)

Mary's POV

I am walking down the hall with Francis, we are to be wed tomorrow and I'm nervous but excited. I sent a message to my childhood friend Merlin who is in Camelot with his husband King Arthur.
We are walking out of the castle and we hear the horn of royals arriving. I smiled widely and run towards the front lawn and see Merlin and Arthur stepping out of the carriage.

"Merlin!" I exclaimed loudly then ran towards him once he noticed me.

"Mary!!" Merlin stated happily leaving the grasp of Arthur and running forward to hug me.

We hugged each other tightly and said how much we missed each other.
We both pulled back from the hug and watched as Francis and Arthur greeted each other.
As King and Prince they both seemed to be very relaxed and kind.

"Merlin come on let's take a walk together" I told Merlin then hooked my arm around Merlins and we began walking.

"Mary me and Arthur need to attend a meeting and please take a guard with you" Francis told me walking towards me and kissed me on the lips gently.

"I will Francis, no need to worry" I reassured him.

"Merlin be careful you idiot" Arthur stated then lightly kissed Merlin before they walked off into the castle.

"So Merlin how has it been since you married the King of Camelot?" I asked him once again hooking my arm through his.

"It's been exactly the same as it was when he was prince and I was his manservant. He treats me the same, so do his knights the only difference is I have death threats and it makes Arthur stress about leaving me alone in the towns sometimes" He told me truthfully whilst helping me get over the rock in the way.

"Yeah I know what you mean Francis is constantly worried about me why do you think he makes me have one or two guards follow me where ever I go even in his own castle" I told Merlin and we carried on down the path into the woods.

"But I love Arthur so much and he cares of me and his people more than himself sometimes which I adore" He told me with love and admiration in his voice.

"Have you told him about your magic yet?" I asked him quietly just in case people were around.

"Yeah and he was a bit shocked at first but he learned to adapt and accept me" He told me.

"Well that's good that he accepts you" I agreed then stopped once I realised we had some how wondered off the trail into the middle of the woods.

"Merlin, where are we?" I asked Merlin in confusion and slight fear.

"I don't know these are your grounds" He shot back at me.

Always with his sassy side, I thought to myself.

"Here Mary those are your guards coming now" Merlin told me pointing to the two shadow figures in the distance.

"Merlin we don't have any guards with us, I didn't tell them where we were going" I told him in fear.

"So who are they then?" Merlin asked looking at me with fear in his eyes.

Francis's POV

"Merlin come on let's take a walk" Mary said hooking her arm around his.

"Mary me and Arthur need to attend a meeting and please take a guard with you" I told her as I walked towards her and kissed her on the lips gently.

"I will Francis, no need to worry" She told me.

"Merlin be careful you idiot" Arthur told Merlin then lightly kissed him and then we walked into the Castle.

"So what is this meeting about?" Arthur asked me genuinely confused about what was happening.
