Chapter 5

Kelsey POV

I went to my brother's room and knocked on his door.

"Hey. Everything ok? You look worried," Lucas said.

"I just have a question for you..."

"What?"

"What would you do if you knew someone was suicidal?"

"Kelsey, did something happen?"

"No! It's just for a school thing. An english paper."

"Ok... Well... I guess it would depend on how severe the situation was. If the person was about to commit suicide, I would call the police and then stay with them until the police showed up so they could get help. But if they were only contemplating the idea of suicide, I would try to talk to them and maybe suggest going to a therapist or something."

"Ok, thanks!"

"Kelsey, wait!"

"What?"

"I ordered a pizza for all of us tonight. It should be here soon, sound good?"

"Yeah. Thanks!"

I heard the doorbell, and I knew Riker must be here. I answered the door, and sure enough, it was him.

"Hi!" He said, smiling.

"Hey, do you want to put your stuff upstairs?"

"Yeah."

I led him upstairs.

"Are we going to work on the project now?" Riker asked.

"We're actually going to have dinner first. My brother ordered pizza."

"Oh. Cool! I love pizza!"

"Great."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Do you live with your brother?"

"No. My parents both work at the hospital, so they have weird schedules. It's usually just me and my brother, but my parents are home here and there."

"Oh, ok. That's kind of cool, having parents who work at the hospital."

"I guess... I barely get to see them."

"Pizza's here!" Lucas called.

"Let's go!" I said, leading Riker downstairs.

When we got downstairs, I handed Riker a plate.

"Lucas, this is my friend, Riker. He's staying over tonight."

"Nice to meet you, Riker."

"Nice to meet you too."

Riker and I both got slices of pizza, and then we went back up to my room.

Later...

Riker POV

"Riker, let's take a break, ok?" Kelsey asked.

"Yeah. My head is starting to hurt anyways," I said.

We've been working on the project for a few hours. We still haven't made the game yet. But we have our board designed and we have most of the rules and stuff.

"Put your shoes on. I want to take you somewhere," Kelsey said.

I put my shoes on and my hoodie too. I get cold easily, and if we're going outside, I know I'll be cold.
