Chapter 24
The next day...
Riker POV
"How was your weekend?" Kelsey asked.
We were currently at lunch. But I wasn't really hungry.
"It was ok..."
"Just ok?"
"Yeah... So Rocky's practically babysitting me because he doesn't trust me, I guess. So we've been hanging out all weekend, and I think that's helping me feel better. But on Friday night, we had a family movie night, and my little brother picked a horror movie, and it really messed me up."
"Oh, you don't like scary movies?"
"They terrify me."
"Oh... Are you ok?"
"Yeah, Rocky let me sleep with him so I wasn't so scared. And I've been sleeping in his bed since. He lets me cuddle with him too."
"That's nice. Does it make you feel better?"
"Yeah. I like it. It's just kind of annoying that he's watching me so closely."
"It's just because he's worried."
"I know..."
"I'm glad he knows. That way I don't have to worry when you're at home. Maybe I can meet your brother sometime."
"Yeah! He always asks about you and stuff. He's glad I have a friend. Or... girlfriend."
"He asks about me?"
"Yeah, he always asks like what you do to help and stuff."
"What do you tell him?"
"Just that you hang out with me and stuff. Maybe you can come over today."
"Sure."
"I missed you all weekend."
"Aw, I missed you too, Riker."
"How was the doctor convention thingy?"
"It was ok. Kind of boring and stuff. But it was ok."
I sighed.
"What?" Kelsey asked.
"I just missed you, that's all."
"Aw..."
"And I did good on the math test from last week!"
"That's great, Riker! So did I. Are you going to eat lunch?"
"No. I'm not hungry."
"Why not?"
"I just haven't had much of an appetite lately..."
"Because you're depressed?"
"I don't know..."
"Aw... Well maybe you'll feel better later."
"I hope so... I want cuddles later, ok?"
"Sure."
Later...
Riker POV
"Rocky will probably be home any minute now," I said, flopping down on my bed.
"So are you guys really close now?" Kelsey asked.
"Yeah. And he constantly asks me how I feel."
"Do you tell him?"
"Yeah. Sometimes he just knows I'm having a bad day though."
