Until The Day
She smiles in the darkness
She's all alone.
She's left it mark-less,
Wishes she could've grown.
She loves the pain
That's going numb
She has nothing to gain
So she starts to hum.
Alone in the dark
She closes her eyes
So surprised to find
She was always alive.
But here she is
A small black sheep.
Wondering what she did,
How she got in so deep.
Yet she turns to ignorance
And smiles,
So defiant
To be in its arms for awhile.
Ignorance whispered
Games to play,
She's getting blisters
From the games it made.
So people left
Her in the dark
With the theft
Of the lark.
Ignorance holds her tight
She can't get away.
She stops the fight
And waits for day.
She holds onto hope
The last little bit.
She learns to cope
There was "No" hit.
So it holds her there
Holds her there forever
It only dares
To do what keeps them together.
Until the day
It starts to die
She runs away
And starts to cry.
There's no one around,
No one to help
She starts to drown
The cards have been dealt.
