Chapter 12

Natsu quickly shook his head "Lucy, go home. I'll talk to you about this when Wendy and I are done hunting." Lucy knew Natsu didn't want to do it but it was what she was destined to be. They said she isn't human, so why should it matter?

"Fine." Lucy pulled away from Natsu and started her walk home. They're were going to have a long talk but she was ready for it. She knew why she wanted what she wanted and she knew how she was going to get it. Nothing was going to stop her.

"But Natsu!"

"My answer is no Lucy."

The blonde whined, grabbing onto her boyfriends hands. Something was stopping her and that something was Natsu. She didn't think he'd be so stubborn about this. Natsu sighed, shaking his head.

"I can't kill you Lucy, I can't even bring myself to feed from you! You don't want to be like us, people see us as monsters. Parents tell their kids we'll eat them if they don't listen. I can't see why you'd want to become one of us." It puzzled Natsu, how could someone like Lucy want to be an monster? It made no sense.

But to Lucy, it was all clear. This way, she could understand Natsu more, protect herself, become closer to her vampire friends. It seemed like the perfect plan!

"Natsu, I'd be able to understand you more, protect myself, become closer with Erza and Mira, it's perfect! I'd be able to be just like you." Natsu shook his head. That was the one thing he didn't want.

Lucy shuddered as she thought about what she said "okay, maybe not just like you but you know what I mean."

"Look Lucy, my answers no. I won't turn you and neither will any other vampires at Fairy tail. Please Lucy, just forget about vampires" Natsu kissed her hands softly "you're to pretty, nice, and smart, you can't be a monster like me." The pinkette walked towards her window, opening it.

"Please forget about vampires. I'll see you tomorrow Luce." That was the last thing the blonde heard before Natsu jumped out the window.

Time skip:tomorrow at school.

Lucy stood at her locker with Levy, sighing "so, how's your relationship with Gajeel? I heard from a little birdie that you two kissed~" Lucy teased. Levy blushed but smiled, her hands clutching her chest. Gajeel asked Levy out yesterday and Levy would not shut up about how hot he is. She did seem to be hiding something, Lucy could tell.

"Oh it was wonderful! He brought me to a nice restaurant, got me ice cream then we finished the night off with a kiss! Oh Lu-chan he's amazing." Lucy giggled and grabbed her books "I can tell because you won't stop talking about him!"

Juvia walked over but she looked..gloomy. It reminded Lucy about the first time they met. Comparing that to how she normally is, it's like they were different people. Lucy frowned at Juvia "what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Juvia sniffled "G-Gray-sama ignored Juvia today..h-he was talking t-to other girls!" Lucy sweatdropped but rubbed Juvia's back.

"Oh Juvia, it's okay. I-"

Natsu wrapped his arm around Lucy's shoulder "hey Lu-why is Juvia sad?!" Natsu and Juvia were best friends. They cared for each other like brother and sister. Lucy placed her hand on his "simmer down. Gray is ignoring her and talking to other girls." Levy sweatdropped and slowly backed away, heading to class.

Juvia wiped her tears, making Lucy's heart ache. Juvia was so happy all the time, tears didn't fit her.

Lucy suddenly got an idea.

"How about we make Gray jealous? You could ask Lyon if he can help since those two are like mortal enemies. Make Gray jealous and he'd only talk to you" Lucy smirked. It seemed like the perfect plan..until Gray walked over. Juvia immediately hid behind Natsu, pleading for him to hide her.

Natsu growled at Gray "what do you want ice prick?"

"Have you seen Juvia? I need to talk to her."

Natsu opened his mouth to say something but Lucy slapped her hand over his mouth. She looked at Juvia, silently asking if she was okay with her telling Gray. Juvia nodded slowly, stepping out from behind Natsu "hello Gray-sa-Gray."

You could see Gray tense up, it's like someone ripped his heart out of his chest and stomped on it "Juvia...c'mon." He grabbed Juvia's hand, dragging her off. Lucy stared and slowly took her hand off of Natsu's mouth.

"Should we follow them, Luce?"

"No..I'm kind of scared what we'll find if we do.."
