Lucy woke up to a familiar warmth. She smiled softly as she thought of her personal heater. For a dead, soulless vampire, Natsu was warm. Lucy also felt soft hair, really soft hair then she remembered. She must've fallen asleep when they were laying down together. Lucy tried to get up but she felt a strong arm pulled her back down.

"My Luce..only mine.."

Lucy blushed and hit Natsu's arm "Hey, I gotta get up.." the vampire simply shook his head and pulled Lucy closer, stuffing his face into her hair "mine." Igneel walked in and chuckled at the scene "it seems mating season has started. I'll be taking Wendy but I'll come back to explain it to you." As he said that, he picked up Wendy and walked out of the room.

Lucy sighed and stared at Natsu's chest "can I please get up?"

Natsu shook his head.

Lucy sighed and kissed his cheek. If he wouldn't let her up, might as well cuddle him. Lucy pulled herself closer to Natsu so her head was laying on his chest while his arm was draped over her hip.

Igneel walked back in "will he not let you get up..?" Lucy sighed and nodded "he keeps saying that I'm his."

Igneel sighed "Natsu, let Lucy sit up."

It didn't work. Natsu was very possessive during mating season, it was just how he is. He didn't want his mate to ever leave his side even if it was only for ten seconds. Igneel growled "Natsu, you can sit up with her."

That worked. Natsu sat up and dragged Lucy with him. Lucy looked at Igneel and nodded.

"So mating season. The only thing Natsu has to do is mark you but that is when he's slowly going back to his normal self. It sounds easy but with your case, it isn't. Since you do not know what you are and Natsu is too possessive, it's going to be a lot harder. Mating season ends when the vampire marks their mate but if they want to wait, It can last a whole month. Natsu is very possessive so I guess he'll do it soon."

Lucy thought for a second before blushing "h-how does he mark me..?"

Igneel smirked "he simply bites you. Nothing else, nothing more unless that's what you two want. I should leave, he's glaring at me and I do not want to hurt my son. Good luck Lucy." The older vampire walked out and Natsu continued to cuddle Lucy. The blonde sighed but wrapped her arms around his torso

"Natsu..I know you're not in the right mind but I should ask you this, despite me already knowing the answer.." Lucy mumbled. Natsu rubbed her back and kissed her head "go ahead Luce, what's up?"

"I want to go to my fathers mansion..I want to see the workers and my mothers grave, I won't talk to him but I need to make sure my mothers grave is okay." Lucy looked into Natsu's eyes, silently pleading that he'd let her go. Natsu stared at her then sighed "fine. But I'm going with you. If he hurts you, I will kill him."

Lucy smiled and kissed his cheek "he won't hurt me." Natsu sighed but smiled at Lucy. She was the kindest person he knew and he was lucky enough to call her his. But Natsu could sense that something was going to go wrong once they got to the Heartfilia mansion.

And with mating season, he didn't know if he'd be able to control himself if someone hurt Lucy, it scared him. Lucy sensed Natsu's mood and she held his hand "everything will be okay..did you eat today?"

Natsu shook his head "Wendy went hunting for me since I can't leave you alone. C'mon." Natsu pulled Lucy up "Hey..I love you."

Lucy blushed "I love you too Natsu.."
