Chapter 29

Very sorry for this.

Where did it all go wrong? The girls were having a nice day together, hanging out, laughing, catching up. How could it go wrong?

There's many answers to that one question but the main one is an ambush.

Erza looked up from her place on the ground and almost screamed in horror. The girls were laying on the ground, battered and beaten, except for Wendy. The little girl was being held up by her throat.

Erza squinted her eyes and gasped when she saw who it was "Zeref.." Erza quickly tried to get up, keeping her eyes on Wendy the entire time. Erza saw Lucy out of the corner of her eye and she quickly reached out "Lucy no!"

Lucy ran at Zeref, pushing him up against the building wall. Zeref looked at her and smirked "so you're Lucy..too bad you'll have to die. You're a very pretty one."

Lucy has one eye swollen shut but she still managed to glare at him. Stars started to form around the girl and she was transformed into a star dress.

Wendy held her throat and looked at Lucy, panting "Gemini.."

Lucy's hair started to shorten until it was to her shoulders and green. Her clothes started to change into a bikini type top and pants while a coat covered her bloody and bruised arms. Zeref raised his eyebrow "Brandish? Why'd you pick her, Lucy?"

Lucy stared into Zeref's eyes, her pupil shrinking drastically. Suddenly, the older vampire fell to the ground, clutching his chest. Lucy slowly backed up and fell to the ground.

Erza stared in disbelief as well as the girls. Wendy ran to Lucy at full speed and quickly brought her away from Zeref "Lucy..get out of that form." Wendy laid her hand on Lucy's head.

Lucy shook her head "it'll wear off..I can't.." Lucy looked at Zeref. Wendy followed her gaze then looked back at her "what did you do..?"

Erza sped over to the man and summoned a sword, pointing it at Zeref while trying to keep a tight grip on the handle of the sword.

Zeref gasped for air and kept clutching his chest "she shrunk my heart.." his voice was raspy but you could understand what he was saying. Lisanna crawled to Lucy and stared at the three girls, her face almost in horror "w-what are you guys..?"

Mira looked at Wendy when the little one looked at her. The white haired beauty quickly shook her head but Wendy stared at her "I'm sorry.." she whispered, knowing Mira would hear it. Wendy turned to Lisanna "w-we're vampires Lis.."

Lisanna's eyes widened and she backed away from the girls. Wendy growled "Lisanna I understand you're shocked but you need to help us! L-let me feed off of you." Wendy looked at Lisanna with pleading eyes and the white haired girl couldn't say no. She slowly nodded and held out her wrist, closing her eyes tightly.

Wendy looked at the wrist and grabbed it, her fangs extending with a soft click. Wendy dug her teeth into the flesh and drank the blood that leaked out. Mira grabbed Juvia and Levy, slowly carrying them towards the others. Zeref looked up and growled, aiming his hand at Mira.

Erza quickly pushed Mira down as a dark light shot towards her. The two girls groaned from the impact but Mira thanked the red head. Wendy finished and pulled away, biting into her wrist and holding it up to Lisanna's mouth "drink, it'll heal your wounds." When Wendy was a little fledgling, she got into a serious accident. Their childhood friend discovered that her blood heals, hence why she recovered quickly.

Lisanna hesitantly latched onto Wendy's bleeding wrist, gulping down the blood that leaked out. Wendy pulled her wrist away and turned to Lucy, moving the hair out of her eyes "stop..we can handle him..you can rest.."

Levy laid her head on Lucy's stomach "please Lu..."

The blonde looked at her friends and nodded, her hair growing longer and changing to its natural color. Her clothes returned to back to her ripped shirt and pants. Lucy slowly closed her eyes as her breathing calmed.

Wendy quickly shoved her bleeding wrist into Erza's mouth "drink." Erza obeyed and smirked as she felt her energy coming back into her body. Erza pulled away and stood up, her outfit changing into her heaven wheel's armor.

Zeref smirked and held his hand out towards Erza "you can't beat me." Zeref ran at the red head, slamming her against the wall. Erza growled and held her hands at her side "dance, my blades!"

Sword flew towards Zeref and he dodged them easily, running at Erza again. Wendy's breath hitched and she quickly shoved her wrist into Mira's mouth. The white haired vampire quickly drank and ran in front of Erza, scales forming around her body and replacing her clothes.

Lisanna stared at her sister "Mira.." Lisanna covered her mouth as tears filled her eyes. Wendy looked at the white haired girl and grabbed her shoulders "Lisanna, you need to help me. Do you think you can carry Juvia?" Wendy pointed to the unconscious girl.

Lisanna hesitantly nodded, picking up the small girl. Wendy picked up Lucy and let Levy lay on top of her, holding the girls close "Lisanna, take Juvia somewhere safe. I'll find you guys."

Lisanna nodded and slowly carried Juvia away. Wendy sped off with the two girls in her arms. Levy gripped onto Lucy, tears in her eyes "Lu..it hurts.." Levy slowly started to cry. Wendy's heart clenched as she heard Levy's sobs. It hurt her to hear the girl cry, she couldn't handle it.

Wendy looked back and saw that they were far enough and she set down the girls, healing them both. Lucy slowly opened her eyes and looked around, hugging Levy when she saw that she was okay. Wendy stood up "I'll be right back. Lucy, protect Levy at all costs." Wendy sped off, sniffing Lisanna's scent.

Lucy held Levy close "d-do you have your phone..?" Lucy pulled Levy up as the younger girl nodded. Levy pulled out her phone and handed it to Lucy.

The blonde quickly called Gajeel, breathing out a sigh of relief when she heard the man pick up "Gajeel! Get the guys..we're at the restaurant near Levys house, we were ambushed by Zeref.."

Lucy quickly hung up and rubbed Levys back "everything will be okay, I promise.." Lucy hugged the girl but froze when she smelled someone. Lucy looked up "Brandish.."

The green haired girl ran to Lucy and held her hands over her "I'm shrinking your wounds..what happened?!" Brandish then turned to Levy and started to shrink her wounds. Lucy looked up at the sky "Zeref ambushed us.."

Brandish's eyes widened "with everyone else..?" Lucy shook her head.

"No..just him.."
