Neil was actually discovering many new areas. He now realised Mumbai was not as small as he expected it to be. During his entire career, he always thought he had surfed the entire region. Now he knew loads was left. The search was taking more long than expected as he was searching for her. There was not a single trace of her. It's again as if she didn't want herself to be found. He remembered what the first time was like. Everytime he felt that his life was in his hands. But he was still letting go of it merely like sand slipping from hands. It was almost two in the morning, she still wasn't found. Yet. Neil had searched for every place possible: Ayesha's grave, Neela's previous home, her previous home, the one in which she lived during childhood. No signs of her. "Avni atleast pick up the phone." He said to himself while a lone tear escaped his eye. He thought about all of his memories with her. The strange places she used to take him. Then he finally remembered something she told. Something he had always stuck at. Things we lose always come back to us in the end. If not in the way we usually expect them to be.
He had thought about it everyday. And everyday he would say I lost you as well. I didn't receive you. But then, she came. Her words were true. He remembered he had asked Where can we most likely obtain them then? And she had replied smiling. Where it all started. Where you started your journey with it. It ends and starts there only. He spun the words in his mind until he finally knew. Where you started your journey with it. He remembered the place where they had first met. The cliff. The cliff was always blanketed with a blue soaring sky above it and was layed upon the cackling, bubbling yet calm sea. The sea waves, he had said take your pain away with them. And she had sadly continued but they also bring them back. He knew where he would find her. He rushed off to that place as quickly as he could.
Finally he saw her. His heart relieved at the sight of her being totally safe. He went towards her. Her body was still. Not moving an inch. He doubted that she was breathing or not. It was exactly the calmness that always arrived before the beginning of a storm. "Avni.." He whispered. Anyone who heard it would think of it as a statement. But he was asking if she was really there or not. No replies.

She was sitting on the ground in front of the railing that was the maximum area anyone was allowed into. Or else you'd fall. At first it appeared that she might purposefully fall, but she was just sitting. Unable to see, hear, feel anything. She was too busy to drown in her own thoughts. Whatever happened today was beyong her limit to handle all the sufferings. What they said was true. As sure as water's wet and days are long and a friend will always disappoint you in the end. He was a lot more than a friend. Even when he hates her now, she still considers him as a friend. She was the one who extended her warm hands of friendship to him to which he happily accepted. He disappointed her. She was honest to her sometimes like the society was to her. But she later felt Society was always honest.
If you don't want anyone to know about your existence, you might as well kill yourself. You're taking up space, air.
That's what she always was. A burden. On everyone. Sometimes even on herself. She was finding it thoroughly difficult to handle herself anymore.
He went and sat besides her carefully. He did and didn't want them to end up deep down in the depths of the sea. Her cheeks were dry and muddy due to the tears which wanted to leave her skin, but then absorbed back into her skin. He held her hand shakingly. It was damn cold. She was there like a perfect statue. Still and cold. If her body, rising up and down a bit due to breathing would not be visible, she would have been as good as dead. "I am sorry." He whispered again. She gave no replies. She was thinking about the first time they both met. Right there where they were just sitting right now. That time seemed like only yesterday. People again were right. Even a small deal of time can make drastic changes. Who knew the fighter cocks would have a son together? "You are here. Where we met. I don't know why it all happened. But it was my most memorable moment." He said looking towards her. "I still remember it and it brings a smile on my face. What about you?" He had a sudden urge to know. A particular reason, though he knew, but for the heck of it. " I wished we would have never met. Seen each other.", She replied, finally protruding from her stillness.
The storm, now, commenced.
