Can we get some support from the Police? Neil asked, clutching the pendant, he had gifted her on her birthday. She just turned 36, less than two months ago. The pendant had her name etched at the back. She had dropped it just one day after her birthday, after being humiliated by Shweta. They fought with her and then that night, they were blessed with this gift of Zara. Their baby girl, developing inside Avni.

We need to completely justify our side is wrong. We need to prove beyond reasonable doubt in the court that Dayawanti is the guilty one. And her crimes need to be to proven to such an extent that the harshest punishment be given and we kill her with our hands. Mitali answered, and then looked as if this all was an impossible task to achieve.

Attempt to murder thrice. Shooting someone. Human trafficking. Illegal buying of weapons. Four murders. Torture. Child abuse. Betrayal. Illegally staying in the house which had to be sealed. Illegal eviction. That's enough. Neil said.

This is what we know. We have to prove. Shekhar reminded him.

THEN HOW MUCH BLOODY TIME WE NEED? Neil yelled at them. He didn't want to waste a second. He seeked revenge for his Avni who was murdered brutally, because of her religion and illegitimacy which weren't her mistakes.

It is going to take months Neil. Maybe even an year. Mitali said, pitying him.

Just get out. All of you. Neil said, irritated. They all did so, recognising he was in deep sorrow.

Ali stayed back with Neil.

Neil slipped to his bed with Ali sitting beside him.

Does your heart say something? Ali asked, staring at the ceiling. Their silence was broken after an hour.

It is getting fainter. Neil whispered.

Atleast last time it said that she was alive. Does it now? Ali asked.

No...I feel nothing. I can't sense her being in any trouble. I don't want to imagine it all Ali. But she's gone. She really is. Neil said, muffling, crying.

Last time..ali began.

Last time, it was my assumption, seeing her begging for help. Dhe didn't ask for help. She told me later Ali. This time, I saw her getting pushed back. I saw the water catching fire. I saw it all. Neil said, snuggling into the side of the bed that held Avni. Her scent. Her.

Ali lowered his head. He so wanted to believe that she was alive. Nothing showed that.

All because of me. Neil spoke up after sometime.

Stop blaming yourself Neil. Ali said, slightly irritated.

No. I remember now. When it dawned upon us that she was pregnant, I had promised that I would stay with her, during this time always. Always. I jokingly sweared upon mom. She asked me to swear on her. I did...but..I br..broke it. I broke it. She died because of that Ali. Neil said, getting up and stammering. He was shaking vigorously with the fear.

I left her to distract those guys. I did. It's my fault she's dead. Neil repeated again and and again.

Ali slapped him hardly to get him back to his senses.

SHUT UP NEIL! NOTHING IS GOING YO HAPPEN. SHE'S GONE! BLAMING YOURSELF WON'T GET HER BACK! THE LEAST WE CAN DO IS GET HER MURDERER KILLED! Ali yelled at Neil.

Neil hugged Ali tightly, flowing his tears.

I didn't want to lose her. We just came together. I lost my child too. Neil sobbed harder and harder.

She won't like to see you getting vulnerable like this. Ali consoled him.

I can't do anything Ali. I can't do anything. I can't be a good father. I can't protect my wife. I lost Avni and Zara.

Neil please chup ho jaa. Please.

After a lot of attempts, after Neil had succumbed to his tears, Ali helped him sleep.

But his dreams, were controlled by Avni.

He saw himself standing somewhere else only. The place was blank.

I thought you would protect me. Someone hissed. Neil turned behind to see Avni, a paler one, skin so shallow he could see through her.

I..tried my best. Neil defended the accusation.

We got killed in front of you. Avni hissed, swirling to get in front of him.

You are a coward. Avni hissed, turning her back at him, moving front.

Neil followed her.

She stopped and turned to face him. I won't forgive you. The pale Avni hissed and then slumped backwards, down.

Neil screamed her name as he saw her.

The edge was a cliff, and she was falling down

He could do nothing to save her.
She was falling, falling...

As soon as the flames touched her....

Avni! Neil yelled and woke up, sweat breaking out on his face.

He couldn't get her back.
