She released her hand from his, defiant anger protruding from her silence. "I'm.. sorry Avni I didn't mean it. I swear." Neil said, closing his eyes after he realised what he said.

She went inside the house, not paying attention to his useless apologies.
The damage has been done.

"Mumma is dai upset with me?" Little Zara asked Avni while she was making her ready in the evening.
"Dai is upset with papa. Little Zoru se thodi hoga. Haina?" Avni spoke in a kiddish way, kissing her cheeks.

"Aha my baby looks so cute. Mumma ko pata hi bhi chala when Zoru became so big!" Avni said dramatically, picking her little doll in her lap.

"You are more cute." Zara said, kissing Avni's cheek as the mother daughter had decided to do twinning and were rocking in the similar outfits.

"But I'm smaller than you and everyone." Zara said thoughtfully. "You were smaller, this much small when you came." Avni said, gesturing with her hands her length.

"And I wanted to eat you. And you cried. So I dropped the plan haha." Avni spoke, showing a faint lion's roar, as they burst into soft giggles.

"Dai didn't give me a gift." Zara spoke sadly. "Your dai is upset today..But I'm sure he'd give you something. Haina?" Avni spoke, straightening her frock before taking her outside.

"Let me call him." Zara said, waving her hands out of Avni's lap towards Mowgli's room. "No baby I'll get him. Here is your Papa. Go with him oka?" Avni said pecking her cheeks, handing her to Neil.

"Avu I'm sorry." Neil said, looking at her pleadingly. Avni being Avni paid no attention to his words and went towards Mowgli's room where Prakash was standing outside, pleading for him to open the door.

"Papaji you go. I'll get him." Avni said. "Na puttar. We'll both take him." He said as they sang his name together from outside in a cartoonish way.

Mowgli's finally opened it, hugging them both. "Bas bache..Rote nahi..My tiger won't cry. Dadda aapse pyaar nahi karte to kya hua? Mumma dadu love you na?" Avni said, kneeling to his level and wiped his tears away, before kissing his eyes.

"Dadda loves you Mowgli." Neil spoke, frowning from behind Avni and Prakash. "Neil leave." Avni spoke, not even looking at him. "Av-" "No I said leave. Please don't hurt us more than you already did. You know I think you're treating us differently because at some point of our lives, we both have lived as orphans? Mowgli was not one but he lived in an orphanage. Batao? Yahi reason hai na? For you to discriminate us?" Avni spoke accusedly, pointing her finger at him. Enough of his shit now.

"How can you possibly think that Avi?" Neil asked in disbelief. Mowgli tugged at Avni's dress, so Avni kept herself shut, took Mowgli inside his room, locking the door.

"Unhone aapse bhi kuch kaha?" Mowgli asked innocently, his blue eyes staring into hers of the same shade, with a twinkle in them. Avni nodded but presented her face in a way, that showed, she didn't care.

"Mujhe pehle se hee ache nahi lagte the. I thought he changed. I know he hadn't. He's the same man now who slapped you " Mowgli said huffing in anger.

"Gussa aa rha hai? You won't even join her party?" Avni asked, making him sit in her lap. "I won't. Uss daayan ki kabhi nahi karunga!" He said sternly, resting his head on her caressing bosom.

"But she was desperately waiting for you honey. You know your grudge is against your dad actually. Zara-" Avni was interrupted by Mowgli whose anger was resurgent.
"Zara what? It's happening because of her Ma!"

"Try to give her a chance. Ek Baar, try to be normal with her, play with her, you know she craves for your company. She wants to play with you, share all her toffees with you, and just be with you. She hasn't started her school yet and so doesn't have friends. Okay?" Avni asked, in her angelic voice, real to her kids.

"Okay I will. But I'm not talking to dad get that." Mowgli said, looking at her.

"Okay baba. Even I'm not.", She spoke winking. She made her hot boy ready and took him outside.

"Yay! Dai aa Gaye!" Zara chirped, running in small steps towards him. Avni laughed seeing her reaction, while Mowgli cracked up too, picked her in his arms and marched towards the hall.

Were cooing Zara, while Mowgli stood away from them, happy to see her.

"Hey someone's looking really hot today." Neil said, hugging Mowgli from behind. He rolled his eyes at Neil's dramatic skills.

"Look at me carefully. I'm not Zara." He retorted. "I know you are not Zara. You're my baby boy!" Neil said but Mowgli pushed him and went away from him.

Avni sighed seeing Neil. Neil was always late to realise his faults.

"My tiger was so upset I never realised." Neil said, tugging Mowgli closer to him, to reduce his fever.
"You never do Neil. Agar sahi vakt par tumne kabhi bhi life mei kuch realise Kiya hota na, hamari life bahot normal hoti. Kuch gadbad nahi Hoti hamare saath." Avni spoke.
