"Zara's physically weak. He just gives her a lotta attention because he does not want her to think of herself as broken or down. We cannot ignore her. It is not about favouritism. It's about making her mentally strong." Avni took Mowgli's small hands into large ones, if compared.

"Do I have to bear with this then ?" Mowgli asked in a small tone, what else could he say. "I know how it feels. I've been through the same. Can't really help, but mumma is always there for you." She kissed his forehead and hugged him, caressing his hair.

"Daddy am I weak ?" Zara asked Neil who was sitting on his bed, reading a book titled 'How to detox your ego'. Neil looked up, gaping. "Who told you?" He asked, taking his little one his lap. "Mummy." She answered, looking deeply shattered. "That's why you love me more!" Zara continued, her lips quivering. "Nahi Zara... She wouldn't have..."

"I'm not weak, mommy is bad. She's lying."
He had to put her to sleep as soon as she began to cry. When she had slept, he went out of the room, enraged.

He spotted Avni doing the dishes, and grabbed her harshly by her arm. "What did you tell her?! Why did you have to say she's weak?!" He screamed at her. "What are you saying?" Avni asked, struggling to get out of his tight grip but he held on stronger. "How can tell this to her! You're really bad as a mother Avni! I did not expect this from you."
Bad as a mother ?!

"Please Avni, stop hurting her. You don't have to go around pacifying Mowgli, I'm there."
"How can you even think that-"
"What's happening?" Shweta entered the kitchen, her mouth open seeing Neil holding her harshly. Neil swore under his breath, speaking words to her Avni had never heard him say and then left her, striding away.

Avni wiped her tears and continued her work, saying a nothing to Shweta.

She did not feel like talking to either Neil or Zara so she went to Mowgli's room, lying alongside him. "You here?"
"Tu hee hai jo mujhe samajhta hai." Avni sighed, twitching his lips. "Kya hua maata?" He pulled her cheeks.

"He's not the Neil I knew. He tries to hurt me. And Zara...I've got the best daughter, note the sarcasm." Avni buried her face in her pillow.

"I think I figured out what happened. You know, you shouldn't have told me that I am your son, I would have married you, giving you a wonderful life." Mowgli shook his head.

"Very comforting."
"Chal abse hum dono ka ye room. Bhaad mei jaane do unhe." Mowgli put his arm around his mother, kissing her cheeks.

"You know, I wouldn't complain of him not giving him attention anymore. He's like this. The world is never fair."
"He sucks." Avni admitted, honestly.
"Sure he does."
They looked at each other and had a hearty laugh.

I know it's very small, but I had to publish this, primarily because I could get a better idea of what to write later. Yeah, the book's coming to a close.
