Neil passed the night deciding and planning for the stuff. When finally he was about to sleep, he had a row with Rahul. Sukoon Ghar had two bedrooms for adult. Avni's room with a dual bed. The other one with a single bed. Avni was still mad at him for that phone call. But Neil could not let Rahul sleep in the same room as hers. When he reached there, Rahul was already heading towards her room but Neil stood midway. He gave his mean smile to him and curled his eye and lip into haughtiness. "Young man, step aside. I'm not free all night." Rahul tried to push past him but Khanna saab was in his form. "Did I ever call you old, you call me young? Thanks by the way. I know I am." Neil said sarcastically. Rahul rolled his eyes. "There's no way you're going to sleep in her room." He said sternly. "Your wife? You are divorced." Rahul replied. "No. Yes. No. Okay. Fine. But still." Neil was stammering first but said the last words nodding to himself like he was reassuring himself rather than him. They soon started fighting.
Hearing them Avni came out with difficulty and yelled "STOP IT!" They both obeyed like good students. "Now what?" She asked eyeing Neil. "What? Everytime I don't do everything. Someone else." He stopped twitching his mouth in an awkward way. "He's asking to sleep in your room. With. YOU?" Neil looked like he was talking to himself more than them both. He just stood with a cute pout on his face. She straight away understood his insecurities. God how can someone look so cute while being angry. Avni stop yourself. He..He loves Mitali. She gulped the smile that was about to be formed. As much as she wanted to annoy him further, she was desperate to have him especially after that incident. She needed someone to look for her. Definitely not Rahul. "Neil. In." She finally spoke. "Avni I'm not going there. And he's not sleeping in. I'll sleep on the matress, or road, Par usey nahi sone dunga." He spoke. "Wait what? In as in?" He asked again. "In. As in my room." She spoke more sternly. "Oooohhh." Neil extended his oh. A simple word. Avni went in feeling some dizziness while Neil followed her sticking his tongue to Rahul and doing a Bhangra. He even locked the door.
Once in, he went to Avni to ask if she needed something. She just gestured him to massage her head as it was aching and he happily agreed. A goody hubby. After some time she fell asleep, Neil kissed her forehead and slept along with her.
Next morning.
Neil reminded himself of his busy schedule. The only problem was how to get her 'coming along'. She wouldn't just agree to come to his boyfriend's party with what she thinks with his boyfriend's girlfriend which isn't her. First let me speak first. Treat your wounds later. Neil said to himself and went towards her. "Hey." He started sheepishly. Avni ignored him meaning a green signal to continue. "Okay so hey. Neil. Khanna. Would you like to come to my bachelor's party?" Avni stopped doing her work and clenched her fists. Her jaw tightened in the same way when she was in jail. "Avni let's go as a pair?" Rahul asked walking in and took her hand in his. Avni's breath was hitched and she was unable to say anything. Tears had already made their way down the corner of her eyes. She couldn't show it to him so she ran upto the room. Rahul went behind her while Neil stood cursing himself. "Avni, if he doesn't care about what you feel, even you don't. Come and show him you're a tigress." Rahul said. Avni looked at him teary eyed and thought about it. He doesn't really care. She wiped her tears and nodded. He smiled.
When evening came, how fastly the time and his heart went and beat, he had no idea. Neil, Rahul and Avni went in the same car. Neil driving along with Rahul at his side, Av at the backseat. Neil was focusing on her more. Suddenly her phone rang. She picked it up. "You don't miss mom?" She spoke slowly. She was talking to Mowgli. "Mom-" "It's okay. It's not your fault. Everyone does this." She spoke wiping her tears. "Mom this is not what-" He started again but Avni had already cut the phone and was crying silently. She herself didn't know why the conversation went likw that. They soon reached the bar and once in Mitali jogged upto them and laced her arm with Neil while Av just diverted her eyes. To support her, Rahul did the same. Mitali dragged him to the stage and announced "Okay let's start the songs and dance party." Everyone hooted except her and him. She just went near the counter and sat and ordered a juice. Neil also went and sat ordering a drink. When she wasn't looking he quickly added something in his drink. Rahul soon came and was about to order a drink for him but Neil passed him his own. Soon Mitali came and dragged Neil to the dance floor and Rahul did the same to Av. Neil was hell irritated now. Time to execute the plan. The song changed.
Hey Avni
You gotta go and get angry at all of my honesty
You know I try but I don't do too well with apologies
I hope I don't run out of time, could someone call a referee?
'Cause I just need one more shot at forgiveness
Yeah.
I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice
By once or twice I mean maybe a couple of hundred times
You did
So let me, oh let me redeem, oh redeem, oh myself tonight
'Cause I just need one more shot at second chances
Yeah, is it too late now to say sorry?
It is
'Cause I'm missing more than just your body
Oh, is it too late now to say sorry?
Yeah, I know that I let you down
You did let me down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?
The song changed again and Avneil just looked at each other
We don't talk anymore.
We don't talk anymore.
Like we used to do.
No we don't
I just heard you found
the one you been looking
You been looking for. I wish
I would have known that
wasn't me.
'Cause even after all this time I
Still wonder. Why I can't move on
Just the way you did so easily
I didn't move on
Don't wanna know kinda dress
You're wearing tonight. If he's
Holding onto you so tight the
Way I did before
I overdosed Should've known your
love was a game. Now I can't
get you out of my brain. Oh
. it's Such a shame.
That we don't talk anymore, we don't talk anymore
We don't talk anymore, like we used to do
We don't love anymore
What was all of it for?
Oh, we don't talk anymore, like we used to do.
Both the couples twirled their partners. Then suddenly Rahul disappeared and Avni no longer cared.
I just hope you're lying next to some
somebody Who knows how to love
you like me There must be a good
good reason that you're gone. Every
now and then I think you Might want
me to come show up at your door
But I'm just too afraid that I'll be wrong
You won't be Av
Don't wanna know If you're looking
into her eyes If she's holding onto you
tight the way I did before. I overdosed
Should've known your love was a game
Now I can't get you out of my brain. Oh
Its such a shame.
Love isn't a game.
That we don't talk anymore, we don't talk anymore
We don't talk anymore, like we used to do
We don't love anymore
What was all of it for?
Oh, we don't talk anymore, like we used to do.
Finally the song ended and so did Neil and Avni, with tears in their eyes and in each other arms.
Neil dragged Avni to a secluded corner. The space was so small and away from all the hustle and bustle of the music. Neil was forced to arch his body above Avni's. His hands were firmly on her waist. She couldn't just control herself. Their noses touched and then they didn't know who started it. Her lips just angrily pounced upon his and she was biting them furiously. Neil still remained gentle as he knew she was just pouring her anger in it. They kissed for so long and broke apart, heavily panting. "You'll. Not. Go to. Mitali." She ordered. Neil just nodded as his happiness knew no peak. They looked at each other and kissed again.
