Past again..

So a long time, thanks to exams. So in many stories of ten yr leap, there's something common. Well, it's in here too along with some sadness,n twists and past brought up again. So here it goes

His way of removing her insecurities was predictable. It was what he did whenever she was close to him. His single track mind thing.
Avni got up from bed, from his husband's clutches, but immediately lied back again. Her heart and her stomach were doing somersaults. She felt like vomitting. She hurried to the washroom and threw up. Neil heard this and went upto her. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah. Just tired." She replied. "Rest. You'll be fine. You already are not well since that roller coaster." He advised and helped her sit. "I'm feeling cold." She complained. He opened the cupboard and made her wear his oversized sweater. She wiped her nose after sneezing and it turned pinky red at the tip. "Aw wifey.. I missed this nose of yours." Neil said awing it and rubbing his nose against hers. "Stay away. You'll catch germs." She said pushing him away with her small white fingers coming out of the sleeve of the sweater. He pecked her lips lightly. "Neil enough of it. Kal raat ho to gaya tha. (Enough of it last night.)" She chided her stupid husband. "I'll bring soup for my wifey. You'll feel better." He said and went downstairs.
They. Consummated last night.

She went to the cupboard to catch another piece of clothing but stopped when something caught her eyes. It was a box with a slip attached to it.

Mitali, I'll keep my phone in it and you'll have the keys. So that, whenever we are together, it can't disturb us. We'll enjoy our dates.

Avni let out her tears. She crushed the paper and threw it. What was this piece of heck doing here. She threw the box at the wall. The wall. She was going to start the project today itself. Neil came in to see his wifey crying and throwing things. He kept the soup aside. "Avni what happened? Why are you crying?" He asked and stopped her. She recited the same lines, sobbing. "YOU SAID YOU'LL STAY AWAY FROM HER." She yelled and held her head from stumbling. "Carefully. And I'm staying away. I threw this thing just like this. How did it come?" He said holding her and taking her to the bed. "How am I supposed to know? Reading this note of yours I feel like I may vomit." She said in a disgusting manner. "I think it's all mom. Sorry Shweta something." Neil thought. "I feel I could just kill....", She said and stopped. She said and clenched her fists. "Drink this soup." He said. As soon as a spoon entered her mouth, she spat it and rushed to the washroom. "I think we need to consult a doctor." He said and called one.
The doctor examined her. He smiled after a while. "Oye ullu de Pathe. Here my wife is ill and you smiling?" Neil scolded. "Well." He said giving a strange look to Neil. "What well? Dig a well and drown into it." Neil said. "You are about to become parents." He said. "We. Already are parents." They both said in unison in a snapeish accent. (Potterheads know it.) "Jinx." Neil grinned and said to Avni. "I mean parents of another child. She's pregnant." He said and walked away. He was annoyed with Neil.
Neil grinned and hugged her. "The best gift Avni. I'll always be with you during this time. I swear on mom's life." He joked. "Swear it on me." She said, holding him. "I swear on you." He promised her. "You'll not miss this one's childhood." Avni promised as well, tears brimming in her eyes. "It's not your fault. I accepted this. You do it as well. Time for some sweets. Fighter aunty will also get it. She needs to see that we meant our words." Neil said and took out some chocolates from his bag which he always kept for her. He took her downstairs and called out for the family. "Papa what happened? I was sleeping." Mowgli said rubbing his eyes. "You are going to get a brother or a sister. A small one?" Neil said cupping his face and gave him a chocolate. "Small one? Aw.. I'll protect her." He awed. "How'd ya know it's her?" Avni asked her little one. "Just see." he said munching on his chocolates. Neil distributed sweets to everyone. Near shweta he said. ",You need this especially lady. Maybe you'll become sweet one day."
"So this is the reason of the happiness I see. One word with you Avni." She said coming near her and whispered something in her ear.
You are divorced. And you're still pregnant. You know what that means right?
Avni dropped the sweets she was holding..
The thing she thought to be her greatest pleasure last night just turned out to be a big mistake.
