Avni stormed out readily. Neil chased her at an equal pace but midway Mowgli stopped him. "Dad please fix this telescope. It's night time right? I'll see the stars and..And Ayesha Naani. Mom told me she exists there, always guides her. She also wanted to go but that's another story. Now fix this." He said handling the set up. "Mowgli see the time. It's nearly midnight." He said trying to shove past him, Avni was nearly gone. "No excuses." He said blocking his way. "Bacha understand. It's really urgent. Please." Neil begged but his se stubborn son shook his head. "Try to understand. It's really important for me to go." He said once more, checking on her again. Avni was gone now. He moved now. He didn't want her to disappear once more. No matter how much his son said he was ready to go when his one sentence stopped him. "When you don't love me, why did you bring us here? When you don't love me and mumma why do you pretend to do so?" Mowgli screamed. Neil lost his cool. "MOWGLI! I LOVE YOU, YOUR MOM. SHE'S UPSET WITH ME NOW. I NEED TO TALK TO HER." Neil yelled in his hoarse voice. Mowgli was trembling badly seeing his avatar. "Wh..what did you do..now?" He asked in a small voice. "It's your Daadi." He said fixing his telescope but was having troubles in doing so. Now I realize science is important. He chided himself and somehow fixed it. Mowgli took it and went to the terrace while Neil called him to be careful. He went outside and searched his nearby areas. If Avni wanted time to be alone, she wouldn't allow herself to be found easily. But even I am her husband. Ge thought and cursed Shweta. "Mom if she does anything to herself, Rab di sona, I won't spare you." He drove to the place where they met, thinking she might be there just like the previous time. But this time she wasn't there. He searched the nearby beach as he remembered Mowgli told him that she used to do that when she was upset. "This miss ajooba. Why does she keep changing her places?" He tried calling her but Bebe picked it. "Bebe you?" He said. "Avni's phone was here only." She replied. He quickly cut the call. She can't take her phone with her herself.
Next he went to Ayesha's grave. The flowers kept on them were fresh. Avni was here. He thought and looked around. The surrounding looked like there was a massive fight or something. He panicked and stopped to see something lying on the floor. It was the same locket which Neil had gifted to her on her birthday. Is she..No shake it off. He said and moved to his last hope. Her previous home. He drove quickly. He couldn't help but get disappointed to see the lights off. But then, the lock was open. And she loved darkness.
He went in and turned on his flashlight. Some pictures of Ashish Mehta and Ayesha Haider were smashed on the floor with the glass littered around. And some blood drops. He stepped carefully and called out for her. "Avni? I know you're here. Show up." He said in a moderate tone. A tinkle from the farthest room made him move further towards it. Old daisies, sunshine. Hide behind the dark clouds. He could hear someone saying it. He immediately recognized the voice as Avni's. He went inside the room. No one was there. But he was sure the tinkling sound came from here. Oh sunshine, my life withers away. Came her voice again. Neil turned his flashlight towards a cupboard. A piece of clothing was passing through the handles but lead inside. Neil opened the cupboard slowly. He could see her slumped silhouette against one side. She was holding a toy in her hand. A clown propped in and out of it, making a tinkling sound. Blood trickled from the side of her head. She spoke all the words looking at the toy. "Avni get up. I said get up." He said picking her up and snatched that horrible toy from her. But she continued her work without blinking. She was in a trance. He shook her violently. "Avni. Listen to me." "It's all Papa's and Momma's fault. I would have never been born. Even if I was born, Dayawanti should have killed me. I should have been dead." She said. "Shut up. You fought death. Don't act silly Avni. Let's go." He said trying to drag her. "Your mom. She's bad..I'm not going to that house. It's filled with bad spirits. Dayawanti's house. I'll live here. I'm illegitimate." "I know she's bad. Ignore what she said." He said cupping her face. "She also said bad to my son." She pointed. Neil was confused. "Don't act silly. What did she mean by illegitimates bring bad luck with them. " She said raising her voice. "I only brought Mowgli with me. She's referring to him. Because he's a half mudblood?" She shouted. "SHUT UP AVNI." He screamed. "I WONT. WHY DON'T YOU SAY THIS TO YOUR MOM?" She yelled as well. "I'll show you come." He said and forcefully dragged her. He ignored her pleas to leave her and made her sit in the car and drove to their home. "How did you get hurt?" He asked suppressing his anger. "At MA's grave, a man was there as well." She said and Neil said in between - "Did he misbehave with you?" "No he was distributing character certificates to me and then when he got upto Ma. Till me was fine. But Ma. I beat him." She said sarcastically. Neil hummed but his mind was somewhere else. The way she behaving there, was it just the stress on her mind or that house. He could feel negative vibes there. But he decided not to say this to her as it was rude. I am not going to spare Mom. Avni should feel comfortable. He decided. His mom was going to face his wrath.
