A Warning Would Have Been Nice

"Matt, I don't know about this," Amanda started, feeling a little crushed under his demanding body. "I mean, he'll deny it. We won't have a case unless I get him to sleep with me."

Matt didn't pay attention, just kept grinding against her and pulling at her clothes. "So? It's only been a week since he broke up with you. He'll be back. Nobody can resist you, right? At least, that's what you promised me."

Amanda wasn't so sure. She'd never been rejected the way Hunter had rejected her. She was still furious with him, and was now even more into this plan of Matt's than before. She wanted revenge. She wanted justification. She wanted to get rid of the sickening feeling that he didn't want her anymore. That was unacceptable. Everyone wanted her!

"Soon, baby, we'll be rolling in the dough. You just have to take a roll in the sack first."

Ned rounded the corner to see the tour bus parked in the back lot. Hunter was just coming out, gripping his cup of coffee and rubbing his eyes tiredly. They had a week's worth of hiatus from the tour, so they had stopped along the way to film a new music video for Hunter's most recent hit, "Tattoo". The graffiti artist had finished painting the giant stereo on the abandoned warehouse, and today was to be the day they both opened and closed the video shoot.

Ned finally reached Hunter, and he patted him on the back in a friendly way. "Morning, Hunt. Sleep well?"

Hunter nodded. "Yeah, I guess." Can't stop thinking about Beth, but what's new?

"Good, because we've got a big day today. Come on over here. I want you to meet your co-star."

They wandered over to meet her, a short, blonde haired girl with what appeared to be permanent scowl lines on her forehead. She smiled stiffly and extended her hand.

"Hey, I'm Shelby," she said, her voice low and bored. Wow, Hunter thought, this should be interesting.

"Hunter Hayes," he replied, shaking her hand and trying to liven her up by giving her a genuine smile. She just nodded curtly and turned away from them, walking towards the film director, Betsy.

"Wow, Ned. You can sure pick them. I've only just met her and I'm already having tons of fun." Hunter rolled his eyes. He wasn't in the best of moods today, which was strange for him. His mood had been decreasing ever since his conversation with Bethany. Every time he saw her with Darryl, his attitude blackened a bit more. It sucked to watch. It sucked even more because they'd been spending a lot of time together this week, since they'd had no shows and a LOT of road to cover. She was so much fun to be around, always teasing him and laughing and looking at him as though he were so much more important to her than he knew he was.

Ned sighed. "Yeah, she seems to be a bit of a diva. But the network sent her over. I didn't pick her. She's supposed to be pretty good, though, honestly, I'm not sure she's worth the trouble. She made Betsy drive half an hour for bubbly water this morning, and now she won't even drink it because she says it's the wrong brand. But, hey, it's just for today, right?"

Hunter nodded, shifting his coffee cup to his other hand and heading over to see Betsy. She greeted him warmly with a hug and a smile, and starting giving him directions on where to stand.

Hunter stopped paying attention after a few minutes, because he caught sight of Bethany walking on to the set. She was wearing a pair of jean shorts that hugged her cute little waist, and a T-shirt that she'd tied off and tucked under in the back. Her hair was pulled back loosely at the nape of her neck, and her eyes were glittering with her familiar happiness. She walked straight up to some of the backstage workers, greeted them with friendly hugs, and stood there talking to them for a few minutes. She's so beautiful.
