Chapter Nine

The closer the two were getting towards the school, the more anxious and panicky Jungkook got. He was worried that Rina was going to start acting the same way she did before, that everyone was going to pick on him even more for turning up with the mentioned girl. "Ca-can you go i-in front?" He ignored his stutter as his steps came to a halt. Rina rose an eyebrow, looking back at him, "Stuttering again." She noted and rolled her eyes. Instead of really focusing on his stutter she linked her arm with his, making both of their heart beat faster. "It's gonna be fine, Kook. Don't worry." With that, Rina basically dragged him along.

As they stepped into the school grounds, Jungkook thought about the worst so when nobody reacted he realized he was scaring himself and worrying about nothing. "See? Told ya." Rina chuckled, unwillingly releasing her grip on him. He shot her a bunny smile but forced himself to hide it immediately. Remembering how she called his smile ugly, he didn't want to make her repeat that. Rina noticed, and nudged his shoulder, "It's okay, your smile isn't that bad." She reassured as she could only guess what made him hide his bunny teeth, and she guessed right. Jungkook only nodded though, continuing to hide his smile that was only getting bigger before completely disappearing. Rina huffed as they walked in the classroom, Jungkook suddenly staying behind the door frame. "Wha- oh. That too, Kook, you don't have to be the last one." She chuckled and took a seat at her usual spot, watching as Jungkook eyed the floor as he came in. She watched him take out the notebooks out of his bag and neatly place them on the left corner of the desk before taking one of the notebooks and ripping out a page. He turned to Rina and handed her the page with a perfectly sharpened pencil. Her heart melted as she took the paper and thanked him. "I- um, I know you're gonna throw it away but still..," He muttered as he started fidgeting with his fingers under the table. Rina smiled, "Nah, I'll keep this one." She tapped on the paper that was now placed in front of her. Jungkook nodded and looked at the wooden desk, a shy smile spreading across his face.

The bell rang a couple of minutes later, Jungkook was starting to panic- scared of what would Mr.Kim say about him missing yesterday. "Good morning class. Please sit down and open your notebooks." Mr. Kim said, coming in the classroom after every student came in. Mr.Kim adjusted his black rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose as he scanned over the students to check if there's someone missing. "Everyone here?" Jungkook's breathing got heavier by that question, he was certain that Mr.Kim will say something- something that Mr.Kim didn't even know happened- and the whole class will make fun of him, including Rina. "Hey, you good?" Rina whispered to the panicking boy a couple of times until he heard her while the class was shouting a bunch of 'yes'es. Jungkook's head shot up and looked towards Rina, a gentle smile was on her face that confused him- wasn't she going to be mean? Jungkook thought. His panicked mind slowly coming to a halt as Rina started whispering over, "It's okay, Kook, just chill. Shit will be fine, so don't worry." She giggled at her choice of words, but she purposely made them like that hoping Jungkook will give at least a smile. He didn't, he only nodded, "Look, just breathe after me, kay?" Rina took a deep breath, Jungkook followed and as soon as Rina exhaled- the boy followed. They repeated the action for a minute, Mr.Kim to busy with getting some new chalk to notice them, until Jungkook was starting to get relaxed, his breathing becoming steady again. "See? I have no clue to why but- if it's about something that I said, I'm sorry." Rina sighed, the apology was genuine and she hoped he would already accept the fact she wasn't going to hurt him again. Already- after a day and a half of being together, you can say that Rina is a bit inpatient. 

Jungkook nodded, "Thank y-you." He closed his eyes and bit his lip as he stuttered again, "Thank you." He repeated, this time without the stutter as Rina bobbed her head his way- not answering as Mr.Kim was paying attention to the class again.
