Chapter Fifteen

The MC greeted her dad as she came inside. She didn't notice the serious look on her dad's face as she was too busy taking her shoes off in front of the doors.

"Rina," Her dad called out and her blood turned cold. His voice was serious only when he talked about something that could potentially hurt or kill us. "Sit please." She obeyed and took a seat, her dad joining her while handing her a pack with a blue colored straw attached to it. Only then she realized how thirsty she actually was. Before, Mr.Kim would bring her a pack so she doesn't go crazy and kill one of the students but as she was in the cafeteria instead of the back of the school or in the empty classroom, he found it hard to do so. "Mr.Kim told me he couldn't find you to give you the pack. Are you crazy?" Her dad sat down, his serious features morphing into worried ones, "I know that I wipe every professors memories of you every year, but if you accidentally kill someone I can't do much about it, Rina." He explained, hoping his daughter actually heard him instead of just ignoring it. "Tell him I'm in the cafeteria then," She shrugged, trying to put a strong front to make it seem like she didn't care. "How will other students see that as then?" He questioned, rubbing his temples with one hand while the other reached out for his phone to text Namjoon. "He can make something up, he's smart." Rina rolled her eyes, taking a few sips that made her sigh in satisfaction. Her dad nodded, typing out a long text to Mr. Kim- or Namjoon- that had all the information to keeping his daughter's thirst on a normal level.

"Now, the serious part." He slumped back into the couch, lacing his finger together on his lap as he looked at Rina. The girl's eyes flickered all over the living room in sudden fear of not knowing what's it about. "That boy you brought, Jungkook?" Rina's heart dropped upon her dad mentioning him. She nodded for him to continue, which he did. "He's ours, right?" Her dad questioned, already knowing the answer from his dear friend, Namjoon, but wanting to see if she would lie to him. Rina was hesitant but slowly shook her head. Her dad couldn't help but smile and mentally praise himself for not raising a liar.

"My daughter likes a human boy." Her dad noted, making Rina's eyes widen. "No! I don't like him." She denied, even though deep inside she knew that it was a lie. "Oh yeah, and you're not a vampire." Her dad rolled his eyes as his voice was laced with sarcasm. "Rina, I'm not from yesterday." He chuckled and patted the said girl's shoulder. "Look, I have nothing against it. I'm just worried that you will be hurt." Rina frowned at his words, of course he would know. "If you really like him, which I know you do, then be with him." He quickly advised before giving his reason, "He's a human, he could die any second." Rina nodded, excusing herself to her room to think about it.

Of course that she cried, half of her being relieved her dad is fine with it and that she finally is able to admit to herself she has a crush on him, half of her sad as her dad's words about him being human got to her.

The boy that the Min family was talking about was choking on the tears he tried to stop from falling. "Stop crying, it won't help you." The woman he was supposed to be calling mom spat at him as she spoke. His dad kicking the boy's head as soon as he saw a tear slip down his cheek. "If I only knew my son would be pathetic enough to cry, I would have tried harder to abort you." His parents continued making him wish he was never born for a couple of hours until he finally passed out from all the pain he received.

Once he woke up, he limped to his room. A metallic taste lingering in his mouth and he wondered how could someone enjoy the taste. With tears starting to run down his cheeks as he saw his parents passed out in the hallway, they probably had a few more drinks while celebrating his passing out, it happened a lot. Once he was in his room, his eyes fell on the black clothes that were laying on his bed, no matter how much it hurt to move- he still took the clothes and put them in his bag for tomorrow. A sudden smile crept up his tear-stained face as he smelled the clothes. Yeah, the alcohol that reeked in the whole house took most of the smell but there was still a hint of Rina's smell that made his pain go away- even for a second.

He went into the bathroom that was connected to his room and hesitated to look in the mirror. He was afraid of how much blood he will see this time, how many open wounds he will have to suffer with for the next few weeks. He looked and was horrified at the damage that was done to his face, his lip was busted, nose bloody, cheeks and forehead filled with cuts that he could only guess was done by a broken bottle of wine. He winced as he touched his cheek, he already knew that his right cheek was going to need a few layers of foundation to hide. Without wanting to see the rest of his body and with his heart hurting, he turned and headed to his bed.

He forced his eyes shut and cried himself to sleep once again.
