Chapter Fourteen

Rina shyly smiled, "Thanks, I try." Jungkook's face was getting warmer, nodding and lightly chuckling at the girl before fully covering his face with his hands. Rina's heart hammered in sudden fear, "Oh no, are you crying? Don't cry." She didn't know why she thought he would be crying but she didn't think about him getting this shy. Upon hearing the word 'cry' as if Jungkook was hypnotized, his doe eyes filled with tears. No matter how much he tried to keep them in, once Rina's hand started drawing circled over his back, he unwillingly let a few drop onto his red cheeks. "Ay, I didn't know you would cry after complimenting me." Rina giggled, trying to light up the suddenly dropped mood. Jungkook subtly wiped his cheeks and looked up, pretending that he was only acting and forced out a laugh. "Kidd- kidding," He forced out a chuckle. Rina saw that his eyes were red and puffy but decided not to push it as it may make the boy uncomfortable. "Awh, you got me." She nudged his shoulder, her lips turning into a pout. 

Jungkook didn't know why his mind suddenly filled with the thought of how will it feel to press his lips against hers, and Rina didn't know why she felt her heart break at the image of Jungkook crying. Maybe they are starting to develop a crush on each other? Nah, both thought it was impossible considering how little time they spent together. Both of their thoughts coming to a halt as the bell rang- indicating the lesson was starting again.

"Don't forget your hoodie." Rina reminded as she neatly folded the paper Jungkook once again gave her and put it in her pocket. She took the pencil and handed it to the boy, feeling her heart jump as their hands accidentally touched since Jungkook was packing in a hurry- not wanting the girl next to him wait. He hummed while nodding, swinging his bag over his shoulder and taking the hoodie that was hanging from the chair. "I have to give the clothes back." Jungkook face palmed as he forgot to pack the clothes Rina lent him. She waved her hand, "Don't worry, you can give it back whenever." The two were already walking down the school's hallway as Rina reassured him. "No, I'll return it tomorrow." Jungkook nodded to himself, making a mental note to pack the clothes into his backpack as soon as his parents are done with him. Just by the thought, he gulped. This time, Rina noticed, "What's wrong? It's okay if you spilled something on it! My dad once poured-," Rina stopped herself for a second, not wanting to say something that was supposed to be a secret, "Poured milk all over it. Yeah." She slipped a little lie into the sentence as Jungkook desperately started nodding, "Yup, I might have too."

Jungkook's laugh filled up the empty street they were passing by as Rina's soon joined. Both's hearts fluttered at the sound of each others' laughter that was caused by Rina's funny remark about professor Kim. "And the way his voice cracks while he yells." Jungkook quickly added, and as if he added more fuel to the fire- the sentence added more laughter. Rina wiped her eyes that produced tears after such good laughter, her cheeks hurting from her lips being too stretched. Jungkook followed, slightly wincing as he ran his finger under his eye but hid it with another breathy chuckle. 

Soon, the apartment in which Jungkook stays in came into their view and both of them couldn't ignore the feeling of disappointment. Masking it with their smiles, they continued walking. Both of their steps started getting slower, dreading the moment the two will part ways. Rina winced in her head as they came to a stop. "Thanks, I'll bring the clothes tomorrow." Rina nodded at the boy. "Tomorrow's finally Friday..," Rina trailed off, trying to get him to stay and talk some more. But Jungkook didn't cooperate as he only nodded and bid goodbye. It's not like he didn't want to stay more but his fear of his parents noticing a girl with him bubbled inside of him. He felt like crying at the thought of them doing something to the girl in front of him. "See you tomorrow." He waved to her before disappearing behind the doors of the building. "See ya." Rina mumbled to herself, turning on her heels as she continued her way walking until she turned the corner.
