Chapter Twelve
Rina stood wide eyed before the boy that just asked, possibly the dumbest question ever. "Ye-yeah, of course we are." Rina was the one who stuttered this time as the question really did catch her off guard. Jungkook broke out into a shy bunny smile, "Ah, okay." He nodded to himself before cheerfully putting on his hoodie. Something about actually being saved by her, for the third time, hearing that they are friends from her, made Jungkook happy. It's like you're finally befriending your crush type of feeling, just that Rina was not Jungkook's crush- but his bully. Former bully, he must add.
"Wait, what does that mean?" Jungkook ran after the girl, a smile still on his face. "That we are friends?" Rina laughed as she watched Jungkook excitedly hop like a bunny- it matched his bunny smile. Jungkook nodded, "That means that you can stop being scared of me, that's only the start." She liked to see Jungkook being playful and excited like that, although it seemed like the two were just suddenly starting to get comfortable around each other- it might be but at the same time, they spent two whole days together. That's a lot of time. "Okay, I'll try, friend." He nudged Rina's shoulder as he said the word 'friend'. Rina broke into a smile at his action, she found him extremely cute at the moment.
Soon, they were in front of Jungkook's apartment. He started feeling uneasy, remembering that he hasn't been home for two and a half days. It's gonna hurt, he already knew. "Woah, that looks.. old?" Rina giggled as she looked up the high building that had at least 4 floors. "Which floor you on?" Rina questioned, not noticing Jungkook's expression as she was trying to remember if she ever walked by this building since it was pretty old loking. "3rd." Jungkook shortly replied, awkwardly standing next to Rina in hopes he doesn't have to go in. "Oh, that's pretty high." Rina nodded to herself and looked towards the boy. Widening her eyes once she realized she forgot one of the most important things. "Oh! I forgot to give you my number." Rina nervously smiled, "If you want it, of course." She quickly added, nervous that he was about to turn her down even though it shouldn't affect her- they are just friends.
Jungkook nodded, taking out his phone out of his bag and writing down the number that Rina told him, the same thing went for him giving her his number. A pink hue irritated Jungkook's cheeks as wrote down the contact name. He couldn't believe he had Rina's number, like THE Rina, the mean nasty Rina. He couldn't believe she was his friend either but still, her number was a big deal to him.
"See ya, Kook~." Rina jokingly sang out the nickname she gave to the boy and turned around on her heels only to stop and turn back around. Jungkook was just standing there, and he was planning on standing there for a couple of minutes to prepare himself for the worst. "Oh, I'll pick you up tomorrow for school." She quickly informed and turned back around, once she turned behind the corner, she sped off to her house and was there within a second as if she teleported.
Jungkook stood in the porch of the apartment and took a deep breath before walking in, dragging his feet up the stairs as he slowly but surely was coming closer to the 3rd floor. He was terrified and couldn't help but wish that Rina would magically appear and save him from the following event. He winced as he opened the doors and was immediately met with yelling and cursing of his parents. "There you are. I was hoping you died."
