Chapter Forty-Three

Rina jumped as Jungkook's eyes opened. "What the..," he trailed off as his eyes landed on Rina. "Before you get upset, I had no choice!" Rina defended herself as he furrowed his eyebrows. "What?" He questioned, way more confused than he was a moment ago. "I told Felix to call the police on your parents. And that's part of the reason to why you're here." Rina nervously smiled, scratching the back of her head while looking at him. Jungkook only looked at her for a couple of seconds before heaving a sigh. "I can't be upset at that, can I?" He was a tiny bit, but he couldn't ignore the fact that he was hoping that someone's gonna save him one day, so he kept quiet and just forced a smile. "Guess I'll have to man up in court." He let out a dry chuckle. "Nah, you can cry. That's manly as fuck." Rina reassured him by tapping his shoulder.

"Wanna know something weird?" Jungkook said, trying to start a conversation after the doctors examined him. Rina hummed as she was getting comfortable on the little couch since she was spending the night with him. "I had a dream where we went to some weird forest, I guess, and there were all kinds of different coloured leaves so I took a picture of you." Jungkook shyly smiled. Rina's heart jumped, "it felt so real tho. I don't know why I'm telling you that. Sorry, It's weird. Forget it." Jungkook waved his hands and nervously laughed. "What if I told you that it happened?" Rina looked at him, a very big smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, no way. I hate you." He shut her down and turned the other way, "sure you do." Rina commented but he ignored, "turn off the lights." He said and covered his whole body under the sheets that the hospital used instead of blankets. Rina giggled as she flicked the light switch. She got comfortable, and was waiting for Jungkook to start snoring to get on her phone.

She smiles once she hears soft snoaring from the bed and puts her phone in front of her face and sends 'you were right' to her dad.

Flashback

Rina's dad sighed and started explaining. "You see, when you meet the reincarniated person that you were close to and spend a lot of time with them, they will start dreaming about their past life." Rina nodded, eyebrows furrowed as she was processing the new information. "But!" Her dad quickly added, "their feelings will need to be the same towards you." Rina nodded again. "So for Jungkook to remember you and everything you did, make him fall for you." Her dad smirked and nudged her with his elbow while wiggling his eyebrows. Rina bursted out laughing, "then you find my mom and do the same, yeah?" She mimicked him but got a sigh in return. "If it were as easy as with your boy then she would be here already." Rina tapped his shoulder, "I believe in ya."

Present

Rina was currently helping Jungkook carry his suitcase out of his 'home'. "You need this?" She took a framed picture that was a family portrait of his parents and a little boy that looked like Jungkook. "Nah. That's not even me." Jungkook smiled, it looked rather sad though. "Looks like you though?" Rina questioned. "Rina. I'm adopted." Jungkook laughed, "I'll tell you later." He ruffled her hair and picked up the suitcase he was carrying to take it downstairs. Rina took the picture once he left and quickly ran downstairs with the other suitcase. "Can you carry that?" Jungkook questioned, seeing as she was a bit behind. "Nope." She smiled and they took off to Rina's house.
