Chapter Twenty-nine

A few months later

Rina's phone shook violently while blasting her favourite song that she put as a ringtone. It was like 2:43am which only made her nervous, her heart rate picking up as the caller was Jungkook. She picked up, a sniff the first thing she heart. "Rina..," he trailed off and Rina hummed to show that she's here. She had an idea of what happened but didn't want to believe it. "Ca- can you come?" He stuttered over the line with a sob following after. "Be there in a sec." She answered, throwing a hoodie over her body. "Rina." Jungkook kept chanting her name over the phone, crying silently, while Rina rushed downstairs and bolted to Jungkook's apartment.

"3rd floor right?" Jungkook confirmed, getting choked up by a sob. "Hang on, I'll hang up and be there in a second." Rina spoke into the phone and waited for a response but only got a few cries. She didn't want to hang up but did anyways. "Parents probably home..," she muttered to herself as she eyed the door. She then walked over to a tree placed near and climbed on it, it was just next to the window she needed which was perfect. She hopped from the tree to the window and prayed it was unlocked before sliding it open. Thankfully it was and she carefully got into a dark room. "Kook?" She whispered and got a wince in return. "Where are you? I can't see shit." She muttered and followed Jungkook's wincing.

Once her foot came in contact with his, she dropped to the floor to gently wrap her arms around his body. He was shaking, that was the only thing she could notice in the darkness. "Where does it hurt?" She questioned, not wanting to give him more pain from making a wrong move. "Everywhere?" It sounded more like a question but it gave Rina somewhat of an answer. She crouched in front of him, waiting for his arms to wrap around her- which they slowly did. She grabbed his phone that was located next to him and put it in her pocket before gently, and painfully slowly got on her feet and straightened herself before lifting Jungkook up by putting her hands under his thighs. Her head thouched something rough above her which made her tuck her head a bit before stepping over to the window."Head." She whispered and Jungkook tucked his head into the crook of Rina's neck so he doesn't leave his head on the window frame.

It took a second to appear in front of Rina's house. She put Jungkook on her couch before examining him and treating all of the wounds she found- and there was a lot of those. Jungkook gave up to the darkness before Rina was half way through which made her feel better about it. She made herself think that he wasn't in any pain when unconscious.

A couple of hours passed by and Rina was snuggled close to Jungkook who was still resting. His breathing pattern changed and it made Rina look up to him. Her eyes widening upon seeing a weird mark all around his neck.

She cupped his face and gently moved it in all kinds of directions to examine the mark as best as she could. It was all red, like a rope was the thing that caused it.

But why would he want to hang himself if Rina gave him hope and happiness? Her fingers trembled as she traced down his neck. "You idiot." She continued throwing insults at him, hoping it would make wake him up faster. She desperately tried to avoid looking at his neck but her eyes kept wandering back to it.
