THE EXOTIC DANCER CHAPTER 017✔ "VIP"
Wednesday Night
Despite wanting to stay out and not have to go back i know well enough that i don't have the option of skipping work because i'm a little bit upset with my boss.
I think time went by to quick though, it's been hours and i still haven't found a way to calm down from my unpleasant encounter with Max this morning. I'm just trying to help him... i don't understand why he is fighting me too much.
I was fuming when i got back home and by now although i still feel a bit on edge i know i will have to manage calming myself.
My hand taps obsessively on the door of the taxi cab, my teeth biting down on the thumbnail of my hand. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how much Max upset me, my job is not the place to be a hot head.
I need to regain a sense of control if i'm going to be able to work today.
As the cab begins to slow i quickly gather up my things. Paying the man in front of me quickly as it stops right in front of the bright glowing lights that welcome the public inside.
I open the door, heels hitting the curb when i get out. They land with more force than i expected, causing me to stumble forward just a bit.
Gosh...I need to pay attention to what i'm doing. I think to myself.
The cold city air hitting my shoulders harshly sending shivers down my back
Once inside the music i could already hear from the outside of the door becomes louder. The bass of whatever song is playing over the speakers affects the entire room.
Such a simple thing is able to make drinks close to the speaker ripple. I bet all of this loud music is just making Max's day. Nothing better than blaring music while you have a hangover.
I make my way to the back knowing my shift doesn't start for another fifteen minutes, also knowing that he will be there. Probably sitting there with the lights dimmed, sunglasses over his eyes looking like a total douche. The glasses blocking his eyes from the sun that is nowhere to be seen.
When i push the door open i see that i was only somewhat correct. Max is in his office with those damn glasses on, but on his desk sits a girl that is oh too familiar to me, his hand on her thigh. It's an understatement to say i am upset.
But it's not for the reasons that may seem obvious. I'm not upset that he's with another girl. I'm upset because i know her and i know why she is here.
