Vampire

I don't stop running. I pump enough energy into my legs to keep going. I dodge trees and hide in bushes when I hear people. I can't return to where I was. They will find me.

Stop

I don't stop even though I tell myself to.

Maybe because I hate myself for using my powers and I shouldn't have, I was asking for it. They know where I am now

I see a river and finally decide to stop.

"Hey" I turn to see a woman maybe in her 50s

"Hey what are you doing around here?"

"Taking a run" I lie

"Oh it's nice isn't it?" She gushes

"Yes it is" I look around

"I go jogging here too sometimes"

"Really you look like you are going camping."

"Yes, my son just had his wedding and I just wanted some alone time" A Snow White husky dog runs up beside her

"With Togo"

"Oh that's nice" I smile "Well I should be going"

"Wait, here" she passes me a water bottle

"No, don't do that" I say

"No it's fine you remind me of my daughter. She passed away not long ago"

Tears fill her eyes

"Oh sorry for your loss."

"Thank you just take this. Stay safe"

She walks away. I roll the bottle in my hands and smile

"Thank you" I whisper

I drink most of it and place the bottle into the river to fill it up again. I walk, back when I see red mixing with the water in my bottle.

I follow the stream to find it

My heart shatters when I see the woman who just helped me lying on the ground with scratch marks on her chest. Her dog circles her whimpering

I rush over to her

"No no no, please" I hold her

"Anna" she whispers

Her daughter I realise

"Yes mother" I play along

"I love y-you" she gurgles on her blood

A tear drips from my eye and lands on her cheek

"I love you too"

She stills. I stare at her face. I close her eyelids.

"Well, well it didn't take long to find you" a voice laughs behind me

I stroke the lady's face. I don't even know her name. I don't even bother  looking up but I know who it is. Togo growls beside me

"What did you do Linwood?"

"Show you what happens if you keep running people, will die"

"You killed her"

"Well she knew you, she had to die"

I look at him mouth agape

"Come with me Jeana. Stop running" he sighs

"Stop running" I scream

"The only reason I've been running is to stay away from you psychos. You kill for fun, you kill to prove a point. You hate each other. You can't even stay in a room without killing somebody. You tried to even kill me. I gave up my life to help you all, I gave up everything"

"No you gave up everything to save your brother"

"Don't you dare call him that"

"OH what's the difference now"

"He betrayed me"

"Now you know. You let him betray you. You were weak, you were naïve, and you were clueless."

"Stop" I growl

"You were idiotic, you were predictable-"

"Stop" I scream. My ears start to ring

"Stop" my cries get weaker

He hurls more insults at me.

"Worthless, sorry excuse for a leader, you should have just died already"

A sharp pain bites my lip, I look down and see blood. My blood. He hands me a mirror. My reflection causes me to throw the mirror away. Togo barks beside me. My eyes are bright red. Fangs poke out from my mouth

"What am I"

"Finally took long enough. Let's go" he orders

I gasp in surprise. Togo follows me and I pick him up

"Your supposed dead parents want to meet you"
