On the Other Side

Lever

I limp across the forest path, looking around for any of my opponents. I watch the trees and bushes rustle and hear the distinctive chirping of birds. 

I lean against a boulder and slide down it.

How long have I been here

Hours. Days. Minutes

I look down at my ankle, it's swollen and purple. How am I supposed to survive

I stick my bow in the ground, frustration boiling in me 

Why was I last to wake up, I'm sure I wasn't last to pass out. This puts me at a disadvantage, I don't even know when the last challenge is or even when the first one began. 

The look on Linwood's face when those two were dying it almost looked like satisfaction

I shake my head and huff, continuing on the path, hoping it leads me to my next challenge or shelter or something .

I continue to walk for a few minutes until I see what looks like wooden cottage. I walk up to it, open the door and hope to take a quick peek inside leaving it open but the door shuts on me nearly catching my finger. 

Panels open to reveal arrows pointing at me, surrounding the room, I pull at the door, but it won't budge.

I turn and look around the room looking for an escape route but there's none. 

Another panel slides open in front of me, revealing 3 doors. 

The same voice rings over the announcer

"There are three doors, one leads outside. Pull the lever to the door you believe is the right one and if it is, all the arrows won't shoot you to death"

I make my way to the levers and look at them. Each has evidence that someone has touched them, I pace up and down.

 Either could be the right one.

I place my hand over lever 1, maybe it's this one but they'd hardly put the first one as the right one

Right?

If it's 2, it'd be perfect, the middle one being the right one.

I pull 3 and wait for the pain of hundreds of arrows but nothing hits, just the fresh air from outside, I silently jubilate as I limp outside welcoming the smell of the forest
