"Do you have anything other than alphabet noodles"
"I thought you liked them"
"Well I can't keep eating them for the rest of my life"
I shut the cupboard and follow Linwood to the living room
"You're being fussy"
"Am not, Togo gets better food than me"
Linwood laughs as he slumps onto the sofa
"Can we not go out, Elisa said there are some nice places that serve stuff other than blood around here"
I brush my hand through his hair but stop when his face suddenly drops
"No," he says
"Why," I ask suddenly suspicious of his blunt answer
"For your safety"
I watch him as he reads his book skilfully avoiding my gaze
"My safety?"
"Yes" he gets up shutting his book in the process
"Now stop asking questions"
"I swear Linwood if there's something your hiding from me, I will find out"
"Are you calling me a liar" he raises his voice
"I never called you a liar Linwood"
"Well you sure are implying I am one"
"Stop trying to pick a fight with me"
He eyes flare up as he throws the book on the sofa
"I'm just trying to protect you"
"From what" I scream
"You don't need to know"
"I don't need to know or I don't deserve to know," I ask
"Choose yourself, it seems you think you know how to care for yourself better than anyone" he spits
He walks away and slams the door of the bedroom.
I lean back on the chair suddenly feeling drained of my energy but sadness suddenly gets replaced with anger
Does he take me for a fool, someone that doesn't know what they're doing?
Here I was starting to feel like this was my home, I guess not now.
