22nd of June 2010, Jeana's POV

"Mummy where are my shoes" I scream. I wanted this party to be over even before it starts.

"I don't know honey look around", she screams from the kitchen. Very helpful.

I result to my next victim of torture. "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy where are my shoes?"

"I don't know ask Olu"

"Olu, Olu!" I search around the house

"Daddy I can't find Olu"

"Check outside" he replies

I run outside and make a b-line for the woods where my brother usually is. If he thinks he can miss my party he is wrong, how am I supposed to survive talking to kids I don't like

"Olu! Olu, where are you?"

"Jeana what are you screaming for?"

I grin when I see him but it drops when I see where he is standing. The entrance of the forbidden forest.

"Why are you standing there Olu, it's called forbidden for a reason"

Even though he is older then me, I am always the one to put him in line.

"I know, just kicked my ball in there by accident, cover for me ok"

"Ok but hurry" I sigh

"It's been twenty minutes now where are you" I whisper

Mother appears with a worried look on her face, she grabs my arm harshly

"Jeana what are you doing there. Where is your brother?"

What should I say? Should I lie or tell the truth. I begin to cry, it will buy him some more time.

"What's wrong"

"I-I'm scared, that's all"

"About your party" yeah that.

Mother drags me back to the house. Where we all wait and wait but he doesn't come out and when my mother and father begin to panic. A sense of dread pools at the bottom of my stomach.

"That's it, I'm calling the police"

"Tocarra, Don't he's probably just at one of his friend's houses. He's always outside" he grumbles

"Jasper we've checked everywhere. Where is he?"

I finally decide to speak up, I hate when they argue

"He went after his ball, he just said to c-cover for him, I am s-sorry" I whisper

The expectation of warm arms surrounding me was soon replaced by a cold hand on my cheek

"We will never forgive you" my father spits
