On the Other Side

Run

I've been locked in this room for uncountable days watching as the sun rises and sets through the barricades window.

It's the same routine everyday. The door unlocks, I get fed, door locks, unlocks, get my back checked and fed again, locks and Titus comes in tells me "how much he loves me and how he'll have his way with me blah blah blah"

But it was different today. The door didn't unlock as usual and Titus was nowhere to be seen. I watched as the sun was setting, seeng the orange and pink in the sky. I snap out of my daze when the door is violently thrown open

My eyes are hazy and I don't bother turning around to see who it is. Probably Titus here with another one of his speeches. I sigh quietly and close my eyes but the nuisance at the door won't let me rest.

I turn to the doorway and see it wide open but no ones there. I sit upright in surprise. This is my chance

Run

It's another test, is he trying to see what I'll do if I run away again. My feet touch the wooden floor and I slowly make my way to the door. I peep into the hallway

He'll punish me again

Just run

I step out he door and quickly stride down the hallway.

I pick up my place quickly darting left and right trying hard to navigate the unknown area. Voices echo behind and pick up my pace. The voices get closer and closer, so I dart behind an arch.

"I'm surprised the King would let them back"

"Is it true that they are here"

"It is the former Beta and his witch liver are in the kingdom"

My eyes widen suddenly, my heart in my mouth

"You would think he would kill them the next time they faced one another"

"It seems it had something to do with the Luna. Something about securing an alliance"

They round the corner and I slide to the floor

Olu here the same building as me......an alliance.....what the hell is going on. I have to leave, I search frantically around for any window or door I can escape from but it all amounts to nothing. The only thing tags racing through my mind is that my supposed brother is here.

"WHERE IS SHE" Titus' voice booms and I immediately know I've been caught.

I sprint done the hallway taking random turns as I hear a loud roar behind me.

Left

Right

Another Right

"I GONNA FIND YOU JEANA"

Sweat drips down my face as I take a sharp turn and race down a flight of stairs. My heart swells when I find what looks like door. I run to it turning the knob but it's locked.

Angry tears stream down my face as I try uselessly to pull the door open

I search around for the key on top of the door, it falls to the floor and let's a loud 'Kang' sound on the floor.

"FOUND YOU"

I reach for and push it into the key hole turning it fast. Titus' boots sound behind me, he's close, really close. Who knows what he'll do to me know, probably sear his name into my skin.

I pull at the door but it creaks slowly. I use all my might and slip out grouch the tiny gap in between. The cold crisp air greets me outside. I kneel catching my breath before taking off again. I just have to keep running, to where I don't know but I'll have to just keep going.

I've never been this terrified of someone but I'm terrified of him. He's the only reason I'm still running. I know they'll find me soon but at least I tried.

I tried to escape
