The sky seems to be getting darker and darker, making it hard for me to see where I am going or what I am doing. So, I stop for the night at a lake and lean against a nearby tree drinking the blood I took with me.I bring it to my lips and swig a bit, accepting the bitter taste. It's the only thing that will keep me alive at this point. It might even help me heal faster, my ankle is so swollen now. I put the rest away, watching the moon as it shimmers lighting up the darkness in the most elegant way.
————————————-
I wake up with a jolt as I feel something wet drop on my forehead. It's still dark. A ruff looking type of dog with blood dripping from its fangs, growls at me.
I roll over and watch it. It's eyes..look familiar.
I cautiously reach for my bow and arrow, positioning it so it points at the animal. It's eyes suddenly flash and it bounds at me
I turn and run away. I know fully well that I can't win this fight. My ankle stings as I apply pressure on it and I know it will be extra swollen by the end of this running session. It leaps at me constantly closing the distance between us. I make a B line for the trees and slide under a branch but to easily jumps over it. I weave through numerous trees hoping I might lose it but it sticks with me, growling louder at me this time.
This is annoying.
I aim my arrow at it and shoot but it only bounces off it. My eyes widen. I thought that would work. What is this thing. It suddenly stops chasing me only watching as I back away.
I stumble backwards out of nowhere and feel myself falling through what feels like a hole. My back hits a cold surface, knocking the out of me and I scream out in pain. I reach for the back of my head.
Crimson red coats my hands.
I look around frantically as the room suddenly starts filling up with water and watch in horror as the ceiling becomes sealed on top of me
"Calm down" I tell myself. I have a fear of water ever since I nearly drowned when I was little. No one ever tried to save me.
The same voice calls out over the announcer breaking me out of my thoughts
"In the box in front of you is 15 keys you must find the right 5 keys to open trap door before the room fills with water and drowns you"
I grab the box from under the water. I try each key one by one in all five slots. I have four in by the time the water reaches my neck. I try for the last key but none fits. I dick under the water and counts the keys
14 of them
I swim up to the surface and shout out in frustration.
I dive to the bottom again and begin looking for the key, maybe it fell. I see a metal grate in the floor
"Pull" it says in black, bold writing
So I do, I pull and pull until it finally breaks free, I grab the key shoving it into the key hole and turn it.
The trap door doesn't open, I bang on it but it doesn't budge. I go up for air but there is none left. I start to panic, I punch it and pull at the corners, it makes me forget not to make the worst mistake of all
Breath
Water starts to fill my lungs and I'm half-conscious now and weak from lack of oxygen and loss of blood.
I then realise that I am in no position to fight my way back up to the surface.
Because I'm tired, exhausted and I really don't want this anymore.
I watch the blood mixes with the beautiful problem that's filling me up and taking away my pain
