Samuel and I stay hidden in his room all day. We both turned our phones off. I guess you could say that we were both avoiding the reality of the situation.
"So, have you heard from Nathan lately?" Samuel asks. It's getting dark outside. I can't believe that I have been hanging out with him all day in his room on a Saturday without it being for work.
"No, and I haven't tried to contact him either." I tell him. I grab the remote from his hands and stick my tongue out at him. "It's my turn to pick out the movie, mister!"
Samuel rolls his eyes at me and smiles. "Whatever." I lean my head against his shoulder. He doesn't move away and neither do I.
"We should probably turn our phones back on now." I tell him. He sighs and nods his head in agreement. We both take out our phones and turn them back on.
I have ten missed calls from my mom and five missed calls from Brittany. I look over at Samuel and show him all the missed calls. "What's the verdict for you?" I ask. He shows me his phone. He has twenty missed calls from Brittany. My eyes widen. Why did she call him so many times? What does she want after all of this time?
"Are you going to call her back?" I ask. I sit up and scoot away from him. Samuel looks down at the space that I just created between us and he raises his eyebrows. "Are YOU going to call her back?" He shoots right back at me. I gulp. "Not right now." I tell him, honestly. He scoots closer towards me and lays his head down on my shoulder. "I'm not calling her back right now, either." He tells me.
"I guess I should leave now. It's getting late....." I don't move to get up. He shakes his head no. "Just stay the night." He whispers. "Are you sure?" I whisper back. "I'm positive." He tells me.
