As you hurry out the door of the break room, your eyes begin to search immediately. Because knowing Alex, he's probably stormed off somewhere quickly, just so he isn't around other people to ask him what is wrong.

But so far, you haven't seen him anywhere. For all you know, he could've hopped in the elevator and took a trip down a couple of floors. And if that's the case, then you truly are screwed.

Then again, you highly doubt that he would just leave the hospital like that. He's responsible, so hopefully, he wouldn't just leave all his patients behind that easily.

Taking a couple more steps out, that's when you spot Alex. And the door to the on-call room sweeps shut behind him. It isn't slammed, which you half-expected. Instead, it just clicks shut quietly behind him.

You take a look around yourself, before following him inside. When you try and open the door, it's locked, making a sigh leave you.

Pressing the side of your face to the door, you say, "Alex, it's me, let me in,"

"Just leave me alone right now," he shoots back anyway, his stressed tone isn't hidden very well.

"Alex, don't make me pick the lock," you threaten.

You don't know how, of course. But you're sure it wouldn't take very long to figure it out. Actually, all you'd really have to do is find the key to the door and then the problem would be solved.

However, you don't want to go through all that trouble for two reasons. One, because you'd have to find a custodian and then proceed to explain the situation. Only for them to potentially have the key.

Or two, it's like breaking down his wall, and it could show him that you don't trust him to be alone like this. Which isn't true, he's a grown man and can take care of himself, and he, of course, knows his limits but, you'd rather be in there to calm him down.

The door unlocks, and swings open while you're still leaning on it. So ultimately, you stumble into the room.

Alex catches you with one arm, and he uses his other hand to shut the door after he pulls you in. When the door is shut, he steadies you on your feet, before he goes back to pacing.

"Alex, it's alright," you say, but don't bother to get close to him to attempt to comfort him.

You do lock the door again, though. Then you cross your arms and keep your eyes trained on him.

His hands are in his hair, pulling on it slightly probably. He's also most likely cursing himself but it really wasn't his fault.

You wanted to keep the relationship on the down low just because you weren't sure how everyone would react to it. Either they would take it as a huge joke— for example, like Christina and Meredith did —or they would take it seriously.

And then there was the fact that you didn't want to look unprofessional. Which seems so insignificant now, especially how Alex is reacting right now.

Taking a deep breath, you go over to Alex, placing your hand on his bicep to stop him from pacing. It works, and instead, he looks at you, placing his hands on your cheeks.

"I should've hadn't let them tease you for so long," He says sadly, which makes you frown for a moment before you shake your head.

"No, Alex, it's not your fault," you reassure him, "You have a right to be mad, but I should've told them to stop a while ago."

He moves from holding your cheeks to pull you into a tight hug, placing his chin on your shoulder, "I love you, you know that?"

A small smile breaks over your face, and you close your eyes, squeezing him back, "Yeah, I love you too,"
