In general, all together, your day had been the shittiest you've had in a while. Not simply because you've had every obstacle that anyone could've thought of, thrown your way. No, it was that everyone and everything had obstructed you from just getting some peace and quiet.

First, when you'd gotten to Seattle Grace, it was like the interns couldn't tell when someone had woken up on the bad side of the bed. Especially after their girlfriend wasn't there to comfort them at least a little bit.

Yeah, Teddy wasn't there in the bed this morning, and you have no clue why. It might be because she had surgery this morning, but you remember absolutely nothing that could've been hinted at her having surgery. And therefore, making it impossible for her to sleep in.

The interns all decided that it was a good day to pest all the attendings, so guess what happened? You ended up telling them to go away before you'd make sure that none of them would be able to get a surgery in the next couple of months. That seemed to do it, because they shut up and went to go to someone else, out of your sight so it was out of your mind.

Next, the patient you had yesterday died too, this morning when some other surgeon that you'd never heard of—or even knew that he existed in the hospital—took your patient into emergency surgery and ended up killing them. After you spent hours on making sure he'd be able to see his kids later today.

The best part of that? Your patient wasn't in dire need of surgery, had the damn doctor waited a little more time, then he would've found out that the patient was fine, and it was a spike. You can bet that you had a word with him too and that it ended with the fact that he doesn't like you anymore.

You won't be surprised if you come back tomorrow and all the nurses and unnecessary doctors had started to gossip. It would be just your luck, especially today, with how everything is going so far.

You haven't seen Teddy all day today, all the surgeries you've been getting have been being whisked away by Jackson, and Owen. And all you really want at the moment is to go home.

A long work day makes you shut down, not all at once, but slowly and painfully. Of course, you can't just leave the hospital without being there for your entire shift, that wouldn't be responsible of you. And it could get some of your patients killed, and that isn't something you need on your plate either.

As you start your way over to the only surgery you've managed to get today, you're met with Meredith striding by you, muttering things to herself.

"Mer!" You shout, she stops for a moment, turning and raising her eyebrows at you, "Where are you going?"

"Patient with a cyst, OR 3," she says simply, "Why?"

You bite the inside of your cheek, trying not to lash out at her, it probably isn't her fault. But whoever is behind it now, is going to have a storm coming their way.

Thinking about it, it might be the interns, and if it is, then they're really not going to like it. Whoever started it all will be put on your service immediately. Simple as that, they pay for what they've done, if there is someone behind this.

"Because that's my surgery," You sigh, running a hand through your hair.

"Oh," she says, her shoulders sagging slightly, before a smile spreads over her face, "Good, I have something else I need to do anyway, it's your patient already?"

"Yeah, if you find out who's been switching my surgeries, let me know," you say, starting towards her.

"Will do, good luck!"

When you enter your shared apartment with Teddy, everything deflates from you. The nervousness and the stress are suddenly off of your mind. But you can't help but let the tears swarm your eyesight. Crying is healthy, it'll let off all the build up.

"Teddy?" You call, shutting the door before heading into the room.

She looks up from her phone, standing in the kitchen, "Yeah? Are you okay?"

Shaking your head, you rub your eyes, throwing down your bag and sitting on the couch. Once you're sat down, your body doesn't hold back anymore and lets the tears out.

Teddy is by your side after that, sitting next to you and wrapping her arms around your body in a hug. Her chin is placed on your shoulder, rubbing your back and humming slightly.

"What happened?"

"Today happened, I'm not going in tomorrow," you say, opening your eyes and turning to look at her. A frown comes over her face as she reaches over and rubs your tears. Then she kisses you.

It's soft, and only lasts for a second or two, before she pulls you into a hug, "We'll see about that,"

"I'm serious," You say, but your tone doesn't show it.

"You say that every time, you'll be eager to go in tomorrow," She laughs, you try to frown at her, but it quickly turns into a smile, and you join in with her laughter.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" She asks, standing up, "First I've got to change, and so do you."

Sighing, you wipe away the last of your tears, before standing up and going with her.

"Thank you,"

"Come to me for anything, got it?"
