——-When you first told the hospital that you were moving to another state, and therefore another hospital, no one was happy about it.
Not only were most people losing a friend but at that point, you were practically family to them. You'd been there since the beginning, almost. After the merge with Seattle Grace and Mercy West, you'd become one with the family that had already been forming.
Miranda was the first person you told since she was your boss. And she was certainly not happy, not that anyone was, but she was by far the worst. Looking at you as if you were one of her own interns, she didn't want to let you go so easily.
And she didn't, Miranda went as far as to offer you a raise if you stayed at the hospital. You couldn't say yes, despite that though, it was more of a personal reason you had to go.
Meredith was surprised, but she wished you a fair well, offering you her support. And telling you to call her if you ever needed help. She was one of the few people that knew of why you were leaving.
Alex was also disappointed, gave you a hug for the last time before you went off by yourself.
The only person who didn't know that you were leaving, was the person you should've told more than anyone; Jackson.
You couldn't bring yourself to tell him that you were going. It's not like the entire time you were leading up to your leave anyway, it was a sudden thing. One day you were going to stay, for what seemed like forever. And the next, you told them all you were leaving.
Jackson probably wouldn't have cared very much, you two broke up two months prior. However, you didn't know that he would care a lot.
The day after you left and he didn't see you around, he went straight to Meredith to ask you where you'd been. If you were going to be coming in later or something. When she broke the news to him that you were gone for good, he felt horrible.
Jackson had started to date Maggie, and he thought that was the reason that you left. Even though you said to him that you didn't care if he moved on, you two weren't dating anymore.
It wasn't because of that; it would never be like that. You weren't bothered by the fact that he'd moved on like you told him to, it was the fact that you were now pregnant.
Alex and Meredith were the first to find out, you didn't trust anyone else with the information, because you knew that they'd be able to keep it to themselves. Too much shit had happened to them in order for them to not know when to keep secrets.
Jackson knew that they knew where you'd gone. And that's why he never stopped persisting with where you'd gone. Asking constantly, no matter what they were in the middle of doing.
In surgery, when he'd be accompanying them, in the hallway, trying to evaluate the patients, trying to sleep in the on-call room—Jackson had done everything.
Even though you two had broken up, you were still like his best friend, and when you'd gone, he felt empty. He had Maggie to fill that hole slightly, but she didn't fit right, not like you had.
Eventually, Alex snapped one day, but he didn't give everythingaway. The most he said was where you'd moved to; Los Angeles, where Addison had gone.

Humming to yourself as you clean the dishes you'd left in the sink the night before, your eyes wander over the window in front of you absentmindedly. You had really scored when it came to perfect views.
Although, you really don't look out this window often, except for when it comes to doing the dishes. You could blank out for hours and not even realize it until the water slowly draws you back out of your mind.
It was peaceful, living in this house alone. Although, you know very well that it's not going to be peaceful when you have them.
Yes, them. It's not just one, it's twins. Something that you're not sure you're ready for just yet. Mainly because you haven't had a kid before and having two is just a bit excessive.
Especially starting off.
The doorbell rings, and you call out that you'll be there in a second. Putting the plate in the dishwasher, you close the door, wash your hands and turn off the sink.
On your way to the door, you dry your hands, since you'll be able to get there faster.
After unlocking the door, you swing it open, expecting a neighbor more than anything. The nice old lady next door checks on you every now and then to make sure you haven't hurt yourself.
However, it's not the nice old lady, it's Jackson.
"(Y/n)..." He trails off, eyes on your stomach.
"Hey," you lean against the doorway slightly, feeling a little faint, "Who told you I was here?"
"Alex," he mutters, "He didn't tell me you were pregnant, though,"
Well, at least Alex left you that much. But you're sure that he didn't mean to, he promised that he'd try his hardest to keep it between him and Meredith as much as possible.
"Wanna come in?" You ask slinging the towel over your shoulder as you move aside.
Jackson comes in, going over to your living room, almost robotically. You shut the door, tossing the towel onto the kitchen counter, before standing in front of Jackson, who's now sitting on the couch.
"How long...?" He asks quietly.
"Couple of months, due in about one or two," you sit on the arm of the couch.
"When were you going to tell me?"
You shrug, "I'm sure I would've done it after they were born,"
He freezes, and his eyes get bigger before he stands up and starts to head over to you, "They?"
Smiling slightly, you nod, "Yeah, twins,"
There's a moment of silence, before Jackson wraps his arms around you, pulling you against him. Slowly but surely, you hug him back.
"I'm here, I'm here for you and them."
