—–"(Y/n)— why can't you just have one of the nurses or interns come and diagnose you?" Alex asks, and you glare at him.
You glare at him, even though you're hunched over and clutching your stomach just so you can relieve the pain a tiny bit. It's working just enough, so you don't bother to move at all.
Anything to relieve the pain.
"Why can't you just —" You groan, a spike of pain strikes your stomach, and you wince a second later, "— get her like I want you to? Just bring her here, Alex —"
"I can't do that, she has actual patients to take care of." He rolls his eyes, shifting on his feet, and then looking at his watch, "I need to get back to one of my own patients."
"Page her, Alex. Then go take care of her patients in the meantime. She's going to be pissed if you don't." You warn him, and he sighs heavily.
"Whatever, fine —" He turns and goes out of the room, "Page Robbins —"
The door shuts, so you can't hear the rest of what he's saying. But as long as he's paging her to your room, you could probably care less. Unless he's trying to tell her it isn't as important.
But, when you page someone, it normally does mean that it's important. That's why they're supposed to answer it at a run and not at a walk because the patient could be dying.
Although you're not taking medical school yourself, you still remember all the basics from when Arizona was doing her internship a long time ago.
There's another pain, this time making you burp. For a couple of seconds you're fine, and then your lunch starts to come up.
Hopping off the bed, you quickly make your way over to the bathroom, hunching over the toilet. And then eventually, just sitting on the bathroom floor altogether. It's not like the floor is dirty or anything, it's a hospital, so its crystal clean.
If anything, at the moment, you're actually making the floor dirty, not vice versa. Which, when you think about it, it's actually a bit weird.
You sit there until you feel like you're done. But even then, you're afraid to leave, so you just sit there instead. The cold floor beneath you is making the nausea better only slightly. Better a little is better than nothing, and you'll take what you can get.
The hospital room door opens a minute or two after you've emptied your stomach. Since you're sitting in the bathroom doorway, with your head against the wall, you can see that Alex did in fact, summon her here.
She looks around the room for a second or two, confused about why it's empty. And then Arizona looks over to the bathroom, and she spots you sitting there.
Worry comes over her face in a quick flash, but it's gone just as quickly. Most likely because she doesn't want to worry you, or she understands why you're over here in the first place.
"Hey, (Y/n)," she greets you, bending down to you so she can examine you, "Why are you here?"
Coincidentally, right as she asks, more pain goes through your stomach, making you wince, "I think I got food poisoning."
She nods, "I told you, we shouldn't have eaten there."
Of course, she took this as an 'I-told-you-so' moment. Why would she not?
She carefully pulls you up from your sitting position and helps you over to the hospital bed. After forcing you to lie down, she starts to do all the boring medical stuff. Asking you questions here and there to make sure she diagnoses you correctly, and just to be sure that you're not wrong on what it might be.
"You'll be able to go home, I guess I could prescribe you some medication, but I don't think its necessary," she says, scrolling through her tablet, before looking up, "So, you're all set."
She smiles after that, and you roll your eyes, "Drink water, right?"
Arizona nods, coming over to you and sitting on the foot of the bed, "Take it easy, and don't order anything from there again."
"Whatever," you huff playfully just to watch her smile in return. She rubs your leg once or twice, before getting up and going over to the door, "I'll send someone in to discharge you."
"I guess I'll see you at home?" You pout, and she rolls her eyes this time, opening the door and standing in the doorway, shaking her head.
"It'll only be a few hours unless I get a patient," she winks, laughs, and then disappears out the door, it clicks shut behind her quietly.
Closing your eyes, you lean your head against the pillow.
At least you two will get more time together at home.
